Graphic Designer
Through the early years of organising events I would pay designers to come up with designs to promote the events until it struck me that rather than paying someone else i should try myself. I knew how I wanted things to look which was sometimes difficult to get across. I loved the design work I did and was hooked. After years of teaching myself through online tutorials and trail and error I am now proficient in Photoshop and have been comfortable to offer this service to paying customers. I definitely have an eye for design which is something that can not be taught.

With the communications industry being one of the most competitive in the world the need for a strong retentions team is vital. My role within BT has been to retain and grow current customer base and sell services (telephone, broadband, TV and mobile) by establishing needs and selling to those needs whilst working in a team. Since I started at BT I have consistently been one of the top performers in the centre receiving many accolades in various forms including countless written bouquets from customers commending me on my customer service skills.

I have been at the forefront of the Doncaster night scene for over a 15 years having being hired by most of the successful clubs and bars around Doncaster, Leeds and Sheffield to market and manage events.
 
I have amassed a wealth of marketing skills, people skills and contacts. I showed unparalleled levels of hard work and tenacity which was proven in the bar takings at the events I marketed which have steered takings upwards by up to 400% and the longevity of my career in events.

Project Description
The course was set up to educate young people in the ever more popular DJ trade taking young people off the streets, onto the decks and even into employment. With the young's ever growing interest in DJing and the DJ industry I felt music can be used as a positive medium to reach young people and avert them away from the pitfalls of street life which more and more young people are falling into in the UK every day. Through a grant from 'Success Doncaster' I set up the courses in 2010. The government and myself felt offering professional DJing tuition would give these young people a better start in life and improve their chances of finding work with a productive hobby to channel their energy. The hope was that this could lead to unlock new talent averting them away from hanging around streets and parks late at night.
