I studied electrical engineering with a focus on automation technology at the Paderborn University in Germany. Starting in 1998 in the Phoenix Contact Group, I have been working at Phoenix Contact Electronics in Bad Pyrmont since 2008. The Phoenix Contact Group is the global market leader for components, systems and solutions in the field of electrical engineering, electronics and automation. Today, Phoenix Contact employs around 22,000 people worldwide, with sales of €3.6 billion in 2022. I started my career as a project engineer for decentralized automation solutions in the automotive environment. I then moved to the development department, where I dealt with software quality management (front-end & back-end/firmware). At that time, the focus was on safety, runtime systems and the associated engineering software. Subsequently, I worked for several years as a senior application engineer in the water/wastewater, energy T&D and transport infrastructure industries, focusing on databases and telecontrol technology. For more than five years now, I have been working on projects within the IEC 62443 standard. At the beginning of 2020, I changed to the position of Senior Project Manager for security projects according to IEC 62443-2-4/-3-3. My responsibilities in this position include all topics related to the certification as ICS Security Service Provider, development and certification of blueprints, know-how transfer, project management, consulting and much more.
