I am a dedicated social entrepreneur who is strongly committed to using technology to promote financial inclusion and economic empowerment in the Global South. At the age of 23, I achieved a successful exit from my first tech venture and subsequently co-founded New Scholars, an organization based in Kenya that focuses on education and innovation to enhance opportunities and access for underserved communities. My work has consistently been guided by the conviction that thoughtfully designed technology can bridge systemic divides and facilitate meaningful, lasting change. I pursued my studies at Santa Clara University and Harvard, where I gained a solid understanding of economic development and technology-focused solutions. Additionally, I am honored to be a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society, reflecting my dedication to academic excellence and leadership in thought. My professional path has taken me through a variety of experiences, including consulting for an experimental charter city in Honduras and addressing the complexities of land ownership in Guatemala. It was during this period — after witnessing financial exclusion and land insecurity firsthand — that the concept for Commonlands was conceived. I founded Commonlands with a clear mission to unlock entrepreneurial potential, restore trust in financial systems, transform credit delivery, and promote global economic empowerment. Through the use of decentralized technology, we are creating a future where land security and access to finance are regarded as fundamental rights for all.
