Devoted to playing a pivotal role in closing the racial wealth gap, Darrel is a 2-time founder turned Venture Capitalist. Darrel currently serves as a Senior Associate at Serac Ventures, an Oklahoma-based early-stage venture capital firm that invests in nontraditional founders building the next generation of global companies. The firm invests in companies at the seed stage writing checks between $500K - $750K in sectors including fintech, SaaS, commerce enablement, future of work, and the creator economy. Previously at Visible Hands, Darrel contributed to the investment in over 105 early-stage companies led by underrepresented founders, amplifying diversity and innovation. His tenure at Comcast as an Investment Analyst was centered around sourcing and research for investing in minority-led startups and funds. As a founder, Darrel explored the tech world, creating consumer mobile apps like TheClub, a livestreaming platform catering to entrepreneurs. He attended The College of New Jersey, earning a BS in Business Management and an MBA with a focus on Strategy, Innovation, and Leadership. In 2023, Darrel, his wife Roselly, and daughter Gianna moved from New Jersey to Tulsa, Oklahoma as a part of the Tulsa Remote program. He is proud of my Jamaican heritage and cherish spending time with his family. His commitment extends to serving at The Met Church, advising VCs, LPs, and Founders, and engaging in angel investments.
