KEY ACHIEVEMENTS & ENGAGEMENTS
- Established a suite of leading indicator metrics and a board risk appetite program, driving transparency and accountability across C-suite, Board, and Business Leaders, ensuring the bank operated within 100% risk appetite.

- Designed and launched SCB’s first Cyber Threat-led Scenario Risk Assessment, a platform that enhanced stakeholder confidence across internal and external groups

- Maintained high-impact engagements with key financial services regulators across UK, Europe, APAC, and the US, significantly elevating SCB’s cybersecurity standing. Successfully shifted the bank’s regulatory position from active scrutiny to global recognition for cyber resilience—achieving compliance and risk appetite milestones across PRA, FCA, HKMA, MAS, and US SEC.

- Led the development and implementation of group-wide cybersecurity policies and enterprise security architecture assurance, ensuring alignment with SCB’s strategic business growth objectives.

- Built and led a multi-award-winning Cyber Red Team from the ground up, conducting threat resilience testing, modeling sophisticated attack scenarios, and providing control strength assurance. Led and managed regulatory threat intelligence testing programs, including CBEST and Intelligence-led Cyber Attack Simulation Testing (iCAST), ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory expectations and strengthening SCB’s cyber resilience posture.

With assets over $180 billion, icare's scale rivals that of an ASX 50 company, demanding a nuanced approach to cyber risk, resilience, and privacy. My focus is on embedding 'Digital Trust' throughout icare's operations and customer interactions, ensuring that our commitment to secure and ethical conduct is clear and unwavering.

The journey to instill a cybersecurity culture across icare has been comprehensive, aiming to elevate cyber risk and digital trust awareness across all levels. This involves strategic advice to the board and executive team, aligning cybersecurity with business objectives to make cyber resilience a cornerstone of icare's success. Transforming our organizational culture to prioritize cybersecurity as a collective responsibility has been key. Through engaging communication and education, we've linked individual actions to our broader security mission, fostering a shared commitment to protect our assets and the people of NSW.

As the inaugural Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Qantas Group, my mandate is to weave cybersecurity seamlessly into the fabric of our business strategy, safeguarding the legacy of Australia's premier flag carrier and its subsidiary, Jetstar Airways. With a workforce exceeding 30,000, the task at hand is not just about risk mitigation but about fostering a culture where cybersecurity propels business objectives forward.

My strategy centers on developing a robust cyber framework that aligns with the Group's ambitious goals, facilitating a transformation program aimed at risk reduction and metric improvement. This involves not only optimizing the Office of the CISO for peak performance in critical areas such as incident response, resilience, and threat intelligence but also ensuring that our cybersecurity architecture is 'secure by design'.

Building and maintaining trust with key stakeholders is at the heart of my role. Through transparent communication and collaborative engagement, I aim to establish a foundation of trust that transcends traditional business relationships. This extends to fostering partnerships across the cybersecurity ecosystem, including business, government, academia, and other agencies, to leverage collective knowledge and resources for enhanced security and resilience. As a member of the steering committee for the Australian Government Joint Cyber Security Centre (JCSC), I champion collaborative efforts to tackle cyber threats, emphasizing the importance of unity in our digital defense strategy.

In summary, my role as CISO at Qantas Group is to ensure that cybersecurity is not just a line item on the risk register but a strategic enabler that drives the Group towards its business objectives. Through diligent stakeholder management, strategic collaborations, and a commitment to innovation, I aim to position Qantas at the forefront of cybersecurity excellence in the aviation industry.

In my role, I am tasked with crafting a new vision and strategy focused on cultivating a risk-aware culture, ensuring the delivery of secure services, enhancing cyber resilience, and overseeing physical security. I lead an international security strategy, supported by a central operations team of over 40 senior security professionals. My responsibilities span across global security governance, programme management, policy and information risk management, external regulatory and audit assurance, supply chain risk, M&A security transformation, and enterprise security architecture.

A key part of my role involves advocating for 'secure by design' principles within DevOps teams, driving education and awareness initiatives, implementing physical protection measures, and enhancing cyber resilience. I am also responsible for reporting security metrics and serving as a strategic advisor to the board. Beyond internal responsibilities, I support our product, marketing, and communications teams by integrating security innovations to foster a competitive edge and bolster brand reputation.

My collaboration extends to various external private and public sector security forums, industry analysts, and I actively participate as a speaker at events and media campaigns. This multifaceted approach not only strengthens our security posture but also positions IHS Markit at the forefront of security innovation, contributing significantly to our standing as a leader in the global FinTech and analytics landscape.
