Horizon Strategies

As the Prime Contractor’s responsible agent, led, supervised, coordinated, synchronized and managed the Army Transition Assistance Program contract transition plan for the Horizon Strategies contract team. Managed the tracking and communication of transition tasks in conjunction with an assigned Transition Team staff. 
 
Key Accomplishments: 

Conducted all Transition activities consistent with the contract and Horizon Strategies’ proposal. 

Coordinated with the COR, Program Manager, and partner teams to facilitate a successful transition. 

Assessed and evaluated the Army TAP program status and recommended immediate, short, and long-term actions to facilitate a smooth transition and contract start up to the Program Manager and Team Horizon leadership.  

Developed the Team Horizon initial Transition Plan in accordance with client requirements and timelines.  

Lead the planning of all associated activities necessary for the transition of services, licenses, tools, infrastructure, assets, and facilities from the incumbent contractor. 

Provided regular briefings to the Horizon Strategies PM, Team Horizon leadership and partner teams. 

Prepared and led all Transition meetings and reviews and documented/managed/communicated any resulting action items until closed. 

Supported the Horizon Strategies PM as required and assisted in the establishment of a culture reflective of Horizon Strategies’ core values and customer’s mission.

Transition Manager

Salient CRGT

•	Worked collaboratively with Joint Staff leadership and other training management team members to review, upgrade and develop Joint Staff training curriculum and instruction for over 1,500 Joint Staff members. 
•	Developed and implemented a Joint Staff Effective Writing Program curriculum in accordance with Public Law 111-274, “Plain Writing Act of 2010”, to improve the effectiveness and accountability of Federal agencies by promoting clear government communication. 
•	Served as a key member in facilitating Joint Staff transition to a web-based, and fully-integrated records management and decision-making application in order to improve Joint Staff planning, collaboration, and analysis in support of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Joint Staff Training Specialist 

National Defense University

•	Planned, resourced, and supervised a two-semester course of instruction focused on US government, partner nation and non-governmental institution procedures in pursuing security goals, foreign policy objectives, and national security strategies relating to South and Central Asia.
•	As a first-year faculty member, chosen as chair of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Program.
•	Awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding performance.

Commissioned Officer

•	Applied Dari language skills to communicate with host-nation partners, securing trust and acknowledgment as a valued member of an integrated team.
•	Achieved goal of building Afghan National Army Special Operations Command’s capacity in personnel, equipment and combat readiness two months ahead of schedule. 
•	Designed and launched a recruiting and training plan for ANASOC that boosted delivery of qualified Special Operations soldiers to deployed battalions by 50%. 
•	Planned, resourced and supervised the establishment of the Afghan National Army Special Operations Command’s basic armored and combined arms training capability.

Operations Advisor

Responsible for program management and oversight of the national training curriculum and development of cadets enrolled in 273 Reserve Officer Training Corps organizations. Responsible for overseeing administration and resource support for leadership and skills development of over 8,000 ROTC cadets engaged in summer training. Responsible for managing a cadet training budget in excess of $11 million. Worked as a key member in the development of training policy, regulations and executive-level presentations which shaped future US Army officer development.

Canadian Army Command and Staff College

•	Recognized by the Commander of the Canadian Army Training Command as the top instructor amongst peers.
•	Slashed failure rates in critical skills test from 13% to less than 1% amongst mid-level military members.
•	Designed and implemented a comprehensive curriculum on counter-insurgency and stability operations based on combat experience in Afghanistan.
