On LinkedIn, I talk about whatever happens to interest me. For business, it’s all Epicor ERPs, from ERP9 to Kinetic. I don’t talk about that so much in my posts, so here are the facts. We are a tiny independent consultancy with deep technical experience of Epicor Kinetic and earlier versions, helping businesses get their ERP working in the ways they need. We aren’t an Epicor partner, and not big enough to do your implementation for you. I’m not interested in selling you an Epicor solution, or convincing you which ERP you should pick. I don’t have best practices for you, or an army of specialists, sales people or project managers. Get in touch if you use an Epicor system, or have already decided to implement one, and want direct flexible help. That’s what we do. What I do. That might be a specific project, such as automating a time-sapping task or integrating with other software, or exposing data where it’s needed. Maybe you don’t have quite that expertise in-house, or you simply don’t have time. Either way, I can do that for you, and leave you with something that your staff do understand and can use. It might be as part of your implementation process, when you find that the expert team handling it have a gap between their expertise and processes, and your more free-wheeling approach, and want someone who can … just do things … but without upsetting anyone or adding complication. It might be that you want back-up on a retainer basis, so your staff can concentrate on the business, and pass on the donkey-work of routine tweaks and updates to someone who can do them quickly and cleanly. You may want SSRS documents that actually look like someone designed them professionally. What I find is that ERP work, being so closely entwined with the workings of a business, is as much psychological as technical. It works best when it’s human, and not when the people of the business are forced into an ERP-shaped mould. So when you work with me, you talk to the same person about what you need as who will provide it. I know enough about Epicor systems to be able to advise what will work with the grain of the system and do what users want and need, and make it happen.
