I believe security is a shield to allow organisations to exploit opportunities. It should never be a straitjacket stifling growth. I provide security solutions aligned with business objectives. This has included leading security audits against security frameworks, investigating security breaches, and recommending recovery actions. Should any incident result in a disaster, I have effectively managed security and crisis response to ensure the safety of personnel, information and infrastructure, alongside adhering to the Recovery Time Objective. Alongside these roles, I have written security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Ensuring these are implemented nationally through effective stakeholder engagement. I have also been responsible for managing the information security of units. Which has included the integration of security IT systems, acting as an Information Technology Security Officer, including the creation and delivery of information security learning and development courses for both UK and overseas-based personnel. This experience is underpinned by the constant development of my leadership and soft skills. As to be effective in delivering security solutions, I believe I have to be an extremely effective communicator, negotiator, and leader. Security at its heart is people-based, protecting an organization's personnel, whilst influencing the acceptance of effective security policies and procedures.
