Most people measure success with the wrong ruler.

They chase likes.
They chase views.
They chase vanity.

But here’s the truth:

✨ 200 of the right people seeing your post will beat 20,000 random impressions every single day.

Likes don’t pay the bills.

Attention alone doesn’t grow a business.
Dopamine isn’t a strategy.

If your goal is clients, track the actions that actually lead to clients.
If your goal is visibility, measure who is seeing your work - not how many.
If your goal is leads, build a system that consistently generates them.

Success isn’t universal.
It’s personal.

And it should be measured by the outcome you actually want, not the numbers that look nice on screen.

Pick your metric.
Build your strategy around it.
Ignore everything else.

Everyone talks about “getting out of your comfort zone.”

But almost no one talks about the danger of staying in your competence zone.

The competence zone feels productive.

You’re good at the work.
People rely on you.
You get praised for being consistent.

But here’s the trap:

You grow just enough to stay useful…
not enough to become irreplaceable.

Comfort doesn’t kill careers.
Competence does.

It convinces you that being good is the same as moving forward.

Aim for mastery, not maintenance.

We're solving the wrong problems.

Ask most marketers what their audience wants, and they'll say:

→ More money 
→ Save time 
→ Cut costs

Safe answers. Easy answers.

The kind of surface-level stuff that everyone nods along to but nobody actually buys from.

Because the thing is...

Those aren't the real problems.
They're symptoms.

Your buyers aren't losing sleep over "saving time."

They're losing sleep over the mess that happens when they don't have enough time.

The dropped balls. The missed opportunities. The feeling of always being behind.

That's the problem worth solving.
But most people won't dig that deep.

They'll keep their messaging broad. Keep it "safe." Keep trying to appeal to everyone.

And in doing so, they appeal to no one.

The more specific you get about who you help and what keeps them up at night…

The more people actually pay attention.

Specificity isn't limiting.
It's clarifying.

And clarity is what resonates.

The advice usually sounds like this:

“You need to find your niche.”

I don’t agree.

The mistake most people make is confusing identity with positioning.
They think a niche is something personal. Something to discover.

It isn’t.

A niche isn’t who you are.
It’s not a calling.
And it’s definitely not a missing puzzle piece.

A niche is a decision.

Here’s a simpler way to think about it:

→ What problems can you solve well?
→ Who has those problems?
→ Which of those people are willing (and able) to pay?
→ Pick one problem. One group.

That’s it.

Niching feels uncomfortable for a reason.
It goes against instinct.

We assume wider = safer.
More people = more opportunity.

In reality:

→ Wider messaging gets diluted
→ Your audience doesn’t know who you’re for
→ And neither do you

Clarity beats reach every time.

Most people don’t need scale.
They need consistency.

Three or four new clients a month changes a lot.

You don’t need everyone to like your work for that.
You just need a small group of people to look at what you do and think:

“Yeah, that’s exactly my problem.”

So stop waiting to find your niche.

Choose it.

Out of curiosity - how did you decide on yours?

Don’t let your mistakes define you.

Your track record isn’t built on perfection.
It’s built on recovery.

In a lot of high-performance environments, mistakes carry a stigma.
One error gets treated like a permanent mark on your professional record.

That’s the wrong way to look at it.

A mistake isn’t a verdict. It’s information.

It shows you where something broke:
 – the process
 – the knowledge
 – the execution

That’s how improvement actually happens.

A fixed mindset says:
“This mistake proves I’m not good enough.”

A growth mindset says:
“This mistake shows me what to change.”

People who are afraid of getting it wrong stop taking smart risks.
And when that happens, progress slows.

Success isn’t the absence of setbacks.
It’s the ability to move through them.

“LinkedIn is too saturated.”

I hear this all the time.

And it’s usually said right before someone gives up.

But saturation isn’t the real problem.
Noise is.

Yes, LinkedIn is crowded.
Yes, there are thousands of people offering something similar to you.
And yes, your audience is being pitched daily.

But standing out doesn’t mean being louder.
And it definitely doesn’t mean being gimmicky.

You don’t need a wild personal brand.
You don’t need to shock people.
You don’t need to be everywhere.

You need to be relevant.

Most people try to appeal to everyone.
So they generalise their message.
Soften their opinions.
Broaden their positioning.
And end up resonating with no one.

When someone sees content that describes their exact situation,
Names the problem they’re already feeling,
Reflects the conversations happening in their head…

That’s when you cut through.
Not because you’re different.

But because you’re specific.

Here’s the uncomfortable question:
If you only need 15–20 clients this year…
Why are you trying to speak to a million people?
