I believe that the biggest block to business growth is its leadership. That was certainly the case in my business when I started out over 20 years ago. I thought my success was due to my brilliance, but really, I was just in the right place at the right time, back in the early days of ecommerce. And because I was afraid to look stupid, I didn't seek out guidance from those with more experience. My business thrived, but only up to my comfort level. At that point it leveled off, mostly because I was afraid of my own success. My mission statement now is "Learn, Grow, Teach." I've learned a ton since those early days, and I look back and wonder why I forced myself to learn so many lessons the hard way? There was always help available, but I rarely sought it out.
