Responsible for partnering with and supporting assigned Development Underwriters to make sound underwriting decisions through the life cycle of the policy.

Actively participate and support Development Underwriters in the renewal, new business, mid-term alteration activities that support underwriting decisions.

Participates in pre-renewal meetings with Development Underwriters.

Prepare underwriting/pricing exhibits (i.e., exposures, rating, claims analysis, expense models, updated account information, etc.).

Manage account documentation (i.e., quotations, actuarial pricing models, reinsurance contracts,  endorsements, cancellations, etc.).

Communicate with brokers/agencies, insureds/customers and internal departments.

Ensures accurate and timely servicing and debiting of accounts and assists credit control with premium collection as required.

Quote accounts and mid-term adjustments as delegated by assigned Development Underwriter(s).

Provides underwriting support and other related services as nessary (e.g., input account information into system).

Underwriting Account Manager

Position & Outline: Underwriting Operations Support: Provide the underwriting department with account support, input data onto the various systems, resolve problems and provide a quality service for internal underwriters and external brokers.

Classes of Business Covered (UK and Ireland): Commercial, Directors and Officers, Manufacturing, Property, Media and Entertainment, Technology, Professional Risks, Automotive and Pro-medica.
- Quote Logging: Reviewing the risks received from brokers, determining the specific product and logging the risk onto the system ready for underwriters to quote, within the service standard time frame.
- Debiting: Debiting a brokers property accounts, sorting through and dealing with accounts queries. Adjusting account premiums, setting up new business, renewals, MTA’s, Endorsements and other account changes required.
- Processing Media and Entertainment renewals for a specific broker with the premiums provided from a Bordereau, whilst updating the internal systems (i90) with any premium changes to ensure consistency with the Bordereau.
- Renewal Packages: Setting up Renewal Packages and issuing the renewal notification on behalf of the underwriter. Generating business objects report, checking outstanding premiums, populating an Underwriting Market Assessment template and performing a Motor Insurance Database check.
- Complete Hold-Cover/Policy Issuance: Printing the Schedule, Employers Liability Certificate and Motor Certificates (if required) to send along with Policy Documents to the broker to complete Hold Cover.
- Chase brokers via emails and phone with regards to their Employer Reference Numbers (ERN) to ensure efficient adherence to new financial regulations without jeopardising broker relations.
- General: Dealing with underwriter and broker queries. Training new staff members in certain tasks. Auditing of Automotive Cover Note Books. General administrative deities including scanning, photocopying/scanning and filing.
