Entrusted with delivering training focused on junior leadership skills.
Responsible for training development, technical advice, quality assurance, workplace safety, training policy development, workplace assessment, corporate governance, compliance, training project management and management reporting.
Led teams of up to 4 instructional staff catering for as many as 70 trainees. 
Deeply involved in reviewing the training continuum, conducting job analyses, forecasting training resources, authoring training management plans and providing advice on training shortfalls against capability requirements.
Set about modernising the curriculum by liaising with end-user organisations to identify workplace needs, identified skills gaps and customised the curriculum.

Senior Training Manager

Led a close-knit team of up to 35 staff, including communicating the plan to the team, determining priorities, setting team goals, allocating resources, monitoring day to day work activities and authoring management reports.
Played a key role in security planning for high-risk facilities and personnel, including developing defence-in-depth strategies that were credited with reducing the risk to personnel, information and infrastructure.
Contributed to general business planning and developed forecasts aimed at projecting team requirements up to 6 months in advance. Liaised with colleagues to organise logistics, catering, medical, dental, communication, information technology, engineering and other support for prolonged operations in remote areas.
Participated in a range of operations within Australia and abroad, including exposure to counter-terrorism, urban operations and various other specialties such as mechanised operations.
Trained in everything from confined space operations, cordon and search to operating HF, VHF, UHF and satellite communications equipment.
Managed a fleet of specialist protected mobility vehicles.
Worked long and irregular hours, often working for months on end in high-pressure situations without a single day off.  
Operated in shifts and responded to callouts at extremely short notice.
Stepped into the shoes of the Senior Operations Manager during leaves of absence and demonstrated an ability to make consistently sound decisions with limited information.
Safely handled explosives and portable machinery, including conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks to life and limb.
In 2018 worked with British staff in Afghanistan for 6 months, leading a team of 54 staff to provide vital asset protection and close personal protection services.

Operations Manager

Reported to the Operations Manager. Led a close-knit team of up from 10-50 staff, including communicating the plan to the team, determining priorities, setting team goals, allocating resources, monitoring day to day work activities and authoring management reports. Participated in a range of operations within Australia and abroad, including exposure to counter-terrorism, urban operations and various other specialties such as mechanised operations. Worked long and irregular hours, often working for months on end in high-pressure situations without a single day off. Operated in shifts and responded to callouts at extremely short notice.

Team Leader

Recognised as one of the world’s best training institutions, providing end-to-end officer training across all aspects of tradecraft an Army clientele comprising dozens of major business units nationally.
Reported to the Senior Operations Manager.
Responsible for training development, administration, operations, planning and training delivery.
Led teams of up to 6 staff and 54 trainees during a period of high operational tempo.
Worked with trainees during prolonged field deployments, coaching and mentoring them to develop mental resilience under arduous conditions whilst working in close-knit teams.
Revamped instructional material to ensure the Army’s generation of future infantry professionals received the best possible training to prepare them for leadership roles.
Prepared lessons on a multitude of topics and gained exposure to advanced instructional techniques. 
Delivered training support to large-scale exercises involving hundreds of trainees.
Trained staff in infantry operations, operations management, human resource management, leadership, OHS, risk management, administration, staff writing, communication skills, presentation skills, problem-solving, organisational skills, business planning and resource management.

Training Manager

Undertook a range of specialist security operations around the world. Operated all manner of military hardware and specialist equipment, demonstrating an ability to quickly learn new skills and apply them effectively in the workplace with no supervision. Gained significant exposure to static and mobile security, including security management.
Worked abroad in the Solomon Islands, East Timor and Iraq under challenging operational conditions. During my time abroad, worked with colleagues, senior executives, tribal elders, government representatives, foreign Defence staff and people from all walks of life.

Infantry Soldier

Liaised extensively with local councils and developed a strong knowledge of construction regulations.  Recognised for my ability to connect with people and cut through the red taping, ensuring key projects stayed on schedule. Planned the project budget and controlled expenditure to ensure completion of works within budget.  Closely monitored project schedules to ensure timely project completion in keeping with strict deadlines. Played a “hands-on” role in all projects, personally undertaking all manner of carpentry jobs.
