At 18, I began my first sales job doing door-to-door for Kirby Vacuums. I had an amazing mentor that helped develop me into a seasoned veteran who was closing 1/2 Kirby presentations. I worked 100% commission-based for two years and this experience is really where I ‘cut my teeth’ in sales. After two years of door-to-door I felt burned out so I entered the corporate sales world working for AT&T selling TV, internet, and home phone packages in a cubicle 80 hours a week. By my second month I was the number one agent among hundreds and I held that position for multiple months. I realized very quickly that the cubicle life wasn’t for me, no matter how good the money is. In 2016 while still working with AT&T, I started my first business, Positive Traders. I had found a knack for intraday trading the foreign exchange market and saw an opportunity to create a business model around trading education. It grew to a six-figure business in the first year but I didn't have the business acumen to scale. I ultimately got burned out once again and closed the business. In 2021, I decided to jump into the NFT space as crypto began its next bull run (I had previously dabbled with crypto in 2017). I worked on several NFT projects, a few that did well, while most flopped. The NFT bubble popped in early 2022 and anyone that relied of the relevance of this space for a job (me) was now SOL. I had lost everything and in August 2022, while living out of my car, I learned about a specific tax credit called the Employee Retention Credit and how I could refer businesses to get this credit and make a commission for doing so. In 13 months I built an organization that did over $120MM in signed and submitted deals. This experience opened up my eyes to what was possible in the world of affiliate marketing. In September 2023, I created Virtus Labs, a B2B affiliate marketing agency that specializes in a wide variety of offers such as insurance, funding, and reputation management. We currently have over 1,000 affiliates and are continuously adding new affiliate offers that align with our vision, which is to only have offers that provide true value to the business.
