David is an accredited executive coach, business leader, public company board director, public speaker and public relations/communications expert with more than three decades of global leadership experience across the corporate, nonprofit and military sectors. His expertise has been leveraged across a wide range of industries including technology, defense, automotive, and retail. From his unique transition as a Fortune 500 Chief Communications Officer to a business division chief executive of a Fortune 25 company, to his current role as an independent director on the board of Embecta Corp. (NASDAQ: EMBC), he has exemplified career growth and versatility. His senior executive roles, including President at General Motors Defense and VP of Communications roles at Amazon Web Services, Exelis, ITT Defense, and United Way of America, reflect his vast and diverse expertise. Highly skilled in developing talent, David transitioned his career to become an executive/leadership/career coach and mentor to senior executives and emerging leaders from the U.S. and abroad. He has supported ambitious rising stars who were new to their role or looking to transition to the next step, guiding them to high performance and promotion. Through his experiences as a coach and strategic communications advisor, he has advised dozens of senior executives through significant professional and corporate transformations. He is a Service-Disabled Veteran who spent 10 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, which includes shipboard service in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm and five years as a Navy Public Affairs Officer (PAO). David is a proud graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and hold a Master’s degree in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He has also completed senior executive leadership programs at Harvard University and Stanford University, in addition to executive education courses at the Wharton School of Business. He received his Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University and is credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a as an Professional Certified Coach (PCC). He is also a certified interpreter of the Hogan Assessment.
