Reflecting on 3 years of zkMe and the road ahead.

Three years ago today, I took a leap into the unknown and officially incorporated zkMe in Hong Kong with little more than an idea.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come.

We have now verified 3.5 million unique individuals using zero-knowledge proofs, solidifying our position as the leading on-chain compliance provider.

Through our 19 credentials in 5 product lines (zk-Customer, zk-Transaction, zk-Business, zk-OpenBanking, & zk-AI Agent verifications) we offer the industry’s only one-stop solution for onchain identity verification requirements.

It’s still a (very) niche space, but it’s growing fast.

1️⃣2023 was about building our product backbone and testing with early customers. We refined our focus, sunset three product lines, and verified ~400K users (35% were non-interoperable customer-specific implementations).
2️⃣2024 was dedicated to iteration and finding early product-market fit, reaching ~1M users (19% customer-specific).
3️⃣2025 has been about early scale, proving that decentralized compliance can be a viable business. We’ve grown to 3.5M users (7.5% customer-specific) and are now nearly breakeven through SaaS revenue.
4️⃣2026 will focus on scaling as we plan to triple both revenue and verifications processed.

Earlier this year, we partnered with the very much underrated Moca Network because we believe deeply in their vision of a neutral, permissionless, general purpose decentralized Identity layer. The completeness of vision and the kind of use cases & partnerships being worked on behind the scenes are extremely promising, and we’re excited for #MOCAChain to go live very soon.

In the first half of 2026, we will scale our zero-knowledge Open Banking solution, bringing this mature product to both web3 and web2 partners:

♦️In web3, we’ll continue consolidating our leading position as the Identity solution for RWA, Token Distribution, Stablecoin Issuance, and Stablecoin Payment Rail providers.
♦️In web2, we’ll enter the market with compliance, risk management, and underwriting use cases in FinTech, Travel & Loyalty, and Neo-Insurance.

In the second half of 2026, we’ll expand our zk-based AI Agent passporting solution (more on that soon).

zkMe is in this for the long term. We believe in the revolutionary potential of decentralized Identity. Historically, innovation in Identity catalyzed financial innovation. From the invention of the census driving state economies, the passport driving international trade, the credit score driving retail access to credit, and open banking driving further retail financial service. We expect the same happen with the advent of zk-based Identity. Self-sovereign Identity will enable the promise of programmable money to become true.
