SynCE

I started SynCE to be able to connect my HP iPAQ device to my Linux machine.

The iPAQ was a mobile handheld devices from Hewlett-Packard running a mobile Microsoft operating system that changed name every few years, from Windows CE to Pocket PC to Windows Mobile.

The part of SynCE that is still useful today turned out to be unshield, a tool and library I wrote for extracting InstallShield Cabinet files. It lives at https://github.com/twogood/unshield nowadays.

Seth Godins nya projekt!


Marknadsföringsgurun Seth Godin släppte nyligen ett poddavsnitt där han berättade om sitt projekt GOODBIDS.

Det bygger på det han kallar positiva auktioner och det är en ny sorts auktion för välgörenhet.

Den största skillnaden mot en vanlig auktion är att varje bud är en donation! Och sedan ökar buden med fasta steg som inte går att hoppa över, till exempel tio dollar i taget.

I Seths blogginlägg om GOODBIDS har han ett räkneexempel med en auktion som startar på $5 och där varje bud ökar med $10. Med 125 bud så är det vinnande budet $1245 medan välgörenhetsorganisationen fått in hela 78125 dollar!
