What is the point of life if we are forgotten after we die? My goal is to protect memories of people from being forgotten. My mission started after seeing life begin and end as a veteran firefighter EMT in Los Angeles. Almost daily we would be called to the home of an elderly person who had passed away. I’d notice photographs of their lives on display throughout their home. I wondered what happens to their lifetime of photographs after their funeral. The reality is those memories get put in a box, or even somewhere in the cloud, only to be eventually forgotten about —an entire lifetime fades away. I this reality made question the point of life and became deeply painful to me as my career wore on. I had an idea to address this pain came at a high price; in 2017 one of my teammates died in a tragic line-of-duty training mishap in downtown L.A. After his funeral the idea of seeing a person’s lifetime of photos by scanning an engraved QR code on the gravestone came to me. I made the very first “DASH” in 2020 (a laser engraved QR code) and attached it to my friend’s memorial so he would always be remembered. I retired from firefighting to dedicate myself to this mission, full time. I am developing a web platform and mobile app for iPhone and Vision Pro. I began my research phase by serving hundreds of clients with an analog method. I gain invaluable insight on what customers really need. People want more than just a metal QR code you can buy on Amazon or Etsy. I’ve spent my life rescuing people, now I want to rescue them from being forgotten. Welcoming Angel investors. #liveyourbestdash
