Project Manager

Project Manager for a $25M multi-year infrastructure project on a remote mine site. As an integrated member of the on-site Capital Projects team, manage project through stage-gates according to the project delivery process. Specific requirements include the development of: Project Scope Statement, Project Charter, Project Estimate, Project Schedule, Risk Register and Project Funding Requests. Manage Contractor engagement through tendering of work, bid review and bid acceptance. Managed detailed design development including oversight of Engineering Contractor and coordination of detailed design review process. Liaison between various Operational Departments to ensure project meets all stakeholder needs and expectations. Project controls activities including; approving project invoices, tracking project costs and monitoring/reporting project KPIs.

Project Engineer supporting clients in the Mining and Construction industries. Liaison between Project Manager, technical disciplines and Construction Manager. Responsibilities include schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. Courageous safety leader who ensures safety is integrated into every stage of the project life cycle.

Project Engineer

Monitoring construction activities in regards to schedule, cost, quantity tracking and quality requirements. Ensure completed work is installed as per drawings, specifications and code requirements. Develop construction work packages, detailed execution plans and hazards analyses.
•Initiate and manage RFI process
•Schedule work and perform monthly lookaheads to identify potential roadblocks or delays
•Support the subcontract procurement process through the tending and awarding of work and/or supplied materials
•Supervise subcontractors on site to ensure they are executing work according to the contract and are adhering to KLTPs safety, quality and environmental policies 
•Manage the Ground Disturbance Permit process, including; BC OneCall submissions, developing Damage Prevention Plan documents and supervising utility scans (GPR) and utility locates (hydrovac potholing) processes

Working for a large consulting firm in the mining sector, gained experience in design engineering. Tasks encompassed every stage of the project life-cycle from early stage feasibility studies to project execution and construction management. Assignments included: drafting proposals, developing project cost evaluations and detailed mine designs. Gained experience in many aspects of project execution including; contractor engagement, client liaison, logistics, construction monitoring and quality control oversight.

Red Chris Mine

Worked closely with a drilling contractor to complete a surficial geology investigation for the valley that contains the tailings facility. I was tasked with locating in-spec materials and establishing the limits of feasible borrow pits. Duties: drill core logging, sample taking, surveying, map creation, and report generation

Engineering Intern Student

Mount Polley Mining Corporation

Returned for a second summer in TSF Field Inspector role. Tragically, on Aug 4th, Mount Polley's tailings dam breached. That summer I learned a lot about crisis management and the responsibilities of an engineer in such a situation. I witnessed engineers take charge to ensure the safety of employees, limit the damage, and begin the restoration process.

Responsible for quality control of construction activities for the annual raise of the tailings dam. Ensured construction met design specification outlined by consultants. Duties: Surveying, Nuclear Densometer Testing, Piezometer and Inclinometer Reading, Material Testing, 3D Modeling, and generation of Daily Construction Reports

Responsible for the day-to-day marketing and recruiting activities for a team of 25 volunteer coordinates across Canada and the US. Organized and executed weekly progress meetings with individual coordinators. Organized and carried out information sessions for prospective applicants. Managed acceptance process and organization of volunteer groups.
