Think about that for a moment…

Not just the goals, the trophies, or the headlines… 📰🥇

But a career built on discipline, strategy, and relentless consistency. 🧠💪

Of course, Ronaldo didn’t stumble into success.

Maybe it’s a reminder for all of us…

Sometimes PROGRESS starts by STEPPING BACK. 💭

Last week, President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping met in South Korea. 🇨🇳🇺🇸

And after years of tariffs, tension, and trade talk… 💬

They agreed to a one-year pause in their economic arms race. 🤝

For two men known for strength that conversation speaks volumes. 🧭

Because whether you’re leading a country, a company, or a conversation…

Knowing when to step back can be as powerful as knowing when to push forward. ⚖️

I’ve seen it countless times in business. 💼

Deals stall. 
Markets shift. 
Emotions rise.

And yet… sometimes progress hides in the quiet. 🕊️

That’s what makes the Busan meeting significant. 🌏

Not because every issue was solved — (that would be impossible).

But because dialogue replaced distance. 💬➡️❤️

🙋🏻‍♂️ At the same time, today is also a personally significant day for me. 

1️⃣ For the first time in my life, I attended a court regarding my labor contract dispute with my former employer, MU GROUP, to address some outstanding issues. 

The communication between both parties was rational and objective, and the preliminary outcome was positive, even though not all matters were resolved immediately. 

This experience reinforces my belief that open communication and negotiation are among the most effective ways to settle disputes.

💡 So whether you’re running a team or navigating a negotiation, remember this:

Stepping back isn’t losing ground.

It’s creating the space where trust — and progress — can grow. 🌱✨🤝

💭 The best managers don’t fix problems…

They build people who do. 💡

But I didn’t always believe that. 😅

Early in my career, I thought being a good leader meant having all the answers. 🧠

I was fast to respond. ⚡

Fast to decide. 🏃‍♂️
Fast to “help.” 🤝

A good leader did everything. 

If something went wrong, I jumped in to fix it. 🛠️

It made me feel useful… in control… even admired. 🌟

But over time, I realized something uncomfortable. 😔

Every time I stepped in, my team stepped back. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

They stopped owning outcomes. 📉

They stopped taking initiative. 🚫
They started waiting for me. ⏳

And one day, a colleague said something that changed everything. 💬

He said, “Davy, maybe they don’t need you to solve their problems.

Maybe they need you to help them see the solutions.”

That line hit me hard. 💥

Because I realized he was right. ✅

Real leadership isn’t about rescuing people. 🦸‍♂️

It’s about trusting them. 🙏

So I started doing something different. 🔄

When a team member brought me a problem, I stopped offering solutions right away. ✋

Instead, I asked questions: ❓

👉 “What do you think is causing it?”
👉 “If you could try one thing, what would it be?”
👉 “What support do you need from me to move forward?” 🤔

And little by little, things shifted. 🌱

The team grew stronger. 💪

Confidence replaced hesitation. 😌

Ideas replaced excuses. 💭

And the best part? 🎯

They didn’t just solve the problem…

They solved the next one faster. 🚀

That’s when I learned this truth: 🧭

If you always fix things for people, you build dependence. 🔒

But if you help them fix things themselves, you build leaders. 👑

Remember, the goal isn’t to be the smartest person in the room. 🏢

It’s to make sure everyone else gets smarter because you were there. 🌍💼

That’s real leadership. ❤️

🤝 Why I Still Believe In #Handshakes?🤔

Of course, not everyone does anymore.

In a world of contracts, NDAs, and digital signatures, a simple handshake can feel… outdated. 💻✍️

But I’ve seen too much across boardrooms, factories, and continents to stop believing in it. 🌏

Here’s why:👇

In 2013, decades of negotiation finally ended between Vodafone and Verizon Communications.

Two giants. 🏢

It was a $130 billion merger. 

At the time, it was the third-largest deal in history. 💰

And yet… it didn’t close in a law office. ⚖️

It closed in a hotel lobby in San Francisco with two men shaking hands. 🤲 (It’s hard to believe with billions of dollars on the line.) 😮

No lawyers. No conference tables. Just trust. 🙏

It was the two men’s longstanding relationship, built over years of respect and reliability, that allowed them to finally move forward.

After all the wrangling, it came down to them looking each other in the eye and saying, “You have my word.” 👀🤝

That’s powerful. ⚡

Because in business (especially international business) paper might protect you, but trust propels you. 🌍

A contract can enforce terms.

But a handshake reveals character. 💡

I’m not saying skip the paperwork.

We still need structure, clarity, and compliance. 📄✅

But I am saying this: if a deal only stands because of the fine print… it probably won’t stand for long.

The best partnerships I’ve ever built — from Shanghai to São Paulo — were sealed with both:
a handshake and a promise that meant something. 🌐🤝

So yes, I still believe in handshakes.

Because long after the ink dries, what keeps the deal alive isn’t the paper…

It’s the people. ❤️

When you walk the factory floor, you feel the heartbeat of production. 🏭

🏭 Here’s why I’ll always visit the factory floor whenever possible...(Even after 20 years) 👣

After two decades in sourcing, I’ve spent more time on factory floors and markets than in offices.

And I wouldn’t change that for anything. 💼

Why? 

Because no report, no video call, no spreadsheet will ever tell you what the floor and the market will. 🧾❌

When you step inside, you feel things that numbers can’t describe.

Things like culture…
Things like teamwork…

And problem solving… 💬🔍

And that’s why I still visit the floor. 👣

Because leadership isn’t just about oversight, it’s about insight. 🧭

You can’t understand quality if you don’t respect the people who create it. 👷‍♀👷‍♂

Every visit teaches me something new:

👉 How a small detail becomes a big defect.
👉 How one motivated team member lifts an entire line.
👉 How great factories feel calm, not chaotic. 🌿

So yes… even after 20 years, I’ll keep walking those aisles. 🚶‍♂

Because excellence doesn’t start in the boardroom — it starts on the floor. 🏗

And every time I step into one, I’m reminded:

🇺🇸 Did you know November 11th means different things depending on your culture? 

In the U.S., it’s Veterans Day is a moment to honor the courage of those who served. 🎖️

A day built on sacrifice, loyalty, and love of country. ❤️

🇵🇱 In Poland, it's Polish Independence Day to commemorate Poland regaining its sovereignty in 1918 after 123 years of partition. 

The holiday marks the end of World War I and the restoration of the Second Polish Republic, with events like parades, flag-raising ceremonies, and patriotic marches held across the country.

🇨🇳 But here in China, November 11th carries another meaning entirely.
It’s called Singles’ Day or as many know it, Double 11. 💥

An unofficial holiday that started as a small celebration for those who were single…

Four “1”s — 11.11 — each one standing tall and independent, like bare sticks. 🌿

But what began as a lighthearted idea among students has become the biggest shopping day in the world. 🛍️💻

…Billions of dollars in sales.
…Thousands of brands competing for attention.

The two days couldn’t be more different…

It reminds me that no matter where we live, every date, every story, every symbol can carry multiple truths. 🌍

Perspective is everything. 👀

Because what looks like just another day on the calendar might mean something completely different on the other side of the world. 🌏

🌎 November 11th is a day that reminds us how connected we really are, even in our differences.
