Buck is an integrated HR consulting, benefits administration and technology services provider. Headquartered in New York, with global operations, Buck is focused on helping its clients realize the best organizational performance for their business while driving positive health, wealth and career outcomes for their people.

At Buck, Dean leads all U.S.business lines and has full P&L responsibility for the U.S. geography.  Upon carveout from prior owner Conduent, Buck became an independent, privately held company in the private equity holdings of HIG Capital.

As one of the shareholders of Buck, Dean was on the Executive Leadership Team and helped Buck:
- achieve consistent year over year organic revenue growth
- expand profit margins
- improve client retention
- improve employee engagement 
- expand digital offerings and technology based revenue streams

All of this led to a successful sale of Buck in 2023 to Fortune 500 insurance giant Arthur J. Gallagher.  Dean played a lead presentation role in the effort to sell Buck, working closely with banker Harris Williams, PE primary owner HIG Capital, and a few other key members of the Buck Executive team.

Buck is now part of Gallagher Benefits Services, a multibillion dollar human capital consulting, brokerage, administration, and technology services provider.

Dean was the Managing Partner of Mercer’s consulting offices in the Pittsburgh and Cleveland markets.  Leveraging 18 years of experience and leadership in the HR consulting industry, Dean helped to grow Mercer's portfolio of business across all practice and offering areas.

Conduent HR Services

Conduent HR Consulting, formerly known as Buck Consultants, was a global HR consulting firm that operated in the US, UK, and Canada.   Dean had full responsibility for a $400 million P&L and 1,600 colleagues around the world.  From 2008 through 2017, Dean had increasing roles of responsibility that included Pittsburgh Retirement Practice Leader, Pittsburgh Office Leader, US East Region Leader, US Wealth Practice Leader, and finally Global Leader of all lines of business as President and CEO.   As the leader of Buck, Dean guided the company through major change as it was split out of Xerox ownership and into a unit of Conduent, all while celebrating Buck's 100 year anniversary as an HR consultancy.
