Passionate advocate for cybersecurity. My philosophy is that more complex technical solutions will fail if the basic security is not solid. I am a humanitarian and optimist; I can get the job done while building coalitions. My lean six sigma expertise helps guide my strategy in all work that I do, I never met a process that couldn't be improved. One of my greatest assets is the ability to bridge communication gaps between business and technical communities. I am an IT Project Manager with extensive experience with the Department of Defense, particularly with the Army Acquisition community. During my tenure with the US Army, I received the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service three times. I graduated from the Carnegie Mellon Executive CISO program and was on the winning team when simulating how to handle a major cyber breach. I'm also a lean six sigma master black belt and enjoy teaching, mentoring, and facilitating problem-solving workshops and teaching lean six sigma green and black belt classes. I'm certified to teach administer the MBTI assessment and related workshops. I have a bachelor's degree in Business and am enrolled in a master's program focusing on Digital Forensics and Investigation. I'm a Navy veteran and have been through Electronic Warfare school. Current secret clearance previously held TS/SCI. I've created a process for utilizing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to evaluate and prioritize areas needing improvement captured in an FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) in order to quantify cyber risk and allocate resources effectively. I usually use Minitab for data analysis but have used Excel and Tableau as well and have a working knowledge of the R program language. I'm currently teaching myself Python. I excel in team and consensus-building.
