I think I learnt something new about myself today.

This video is just over four minutes long. 

Not my typical short, polished video. You’ll notice a lot of word fillers, pauses, and deep breaths… and that’s because:

1️⃣ I didn’t have a full script.... just guided points. (That’s something I don’t usually do.)
2️⃣ I told myself, “Slow down and find the words.”

That might sound simple, but if you live with a stutter, you’ll know how hard that can be. 

Many of us rush to “get it over with” instead of giving ourselves permission to breathe and take our time.

Today reminded me that fluency isn’t the goal:- authenticity is.

For years, I believed I had to “fix” my speech before I could teach, consult, or lead. But teaching actually helped me find my voice. 

And over time, I moved from feeling like my stammer was something to hide… to realising it’s a part of what makes me The Stammering Communicator.

So today, on International Stuttering Awareness Day, I’m celebrating every pause, every restart, every breath.

Because every one of those moments means I chose to keep speaking and to keep showing up.
