From FMCG to fashion and luxury travel - I've done them all. 

And it's probably the best thing I could've done. 

I learned so many different things in each of my previous roles, that are actively helping me do such a great job at Nude today.

It takes time to figure out what you really want or like. 

Not my usual type of post, but it's something I wish someone would have told me when I was worrying about my career.

‘People don’t owe you or your business anything.’

You can have the greatest product or service in the world.

But If nobody knows that it exists, it’s useless.

It’s your job to: 

•⁠ ⁠Educate
•⁠ ⁠Intrigue
•⁠ ⁠Nurture 
•⁠ ⁠Inspire

You can’t do this by sitting in the shadows.

Show people what life is like before your product/service.

Show people what life is like after your product/service.

Show people why their problems go unsolved.

Show people why they should choose you.

There’s endless opportunities to do this in 2024 through:

•⁠ ⁠Content marketing
•⁠ ⁠Advertising
•⁠ ⁠Outreach

The more exposure you get, the faster you grow.

Or in the worst case scenario, the faster you adapt.

LinkedIn is a great platform if you want to:

→ grow professionally
→ build a personal brand
→ advertise your services and products
→ build relationships with potential clients
→ build a community of like-minded people
→ have healthy debates on topics of interest
→ learn from other professionals in your industry

Sometimes it may resemble other social channels. 

But remember, it’s still a professional space.

Which means you probably shouldn’t:
→ be rude
→ be needlessly sarcastic
→ share unprofessional content
→ mock or insult other professionals 

Debates can be healthy and constructive - everyone’s allowed to have their own point of view.

But I’ve seen things escalate and get ugly really quickly on here. 

So this is your Friday reminder to be kind. 

Mind your own business.

And support your peers ❤️

I love AI, but...

AI comments defeat the purpose of commenting.

When personal branding became a thing, one of the first things the experts would advise you to do was to engage with other professionals in your network.

Which meant commenting on their posts.

Insightful comments.

Valuable inputs.

Getting noticed.

So what happened?

People started chasing quantity over quality.

Which led to developing AI-tools for commenting. 

I'm not against using AI for inspiration or guidance.

But don't let it completely replace your process, especially when it's this obvious. 

I don't have enough fingers on my hands to count the amount of AI-generated comments I see every single day on my posts. 

It's a bad look and it's not delivering the results you desire. 

Quantity over quality is almost never a good strategy.

→ Fine-tuned our strategy
→ Worked on our positioning
→ Started working on a new website (coming soon)

→ Launched a lead magnet 
→ Developed a multi-channel strategy for Nude

We want to practice what we preach.

LinkedIn company pages are not dead.

(I expect this to ruffle some feathers👀)

Yes, having a personal brand is amazing. 

And I think every founder should TRY to build one.

But let's be honest.

It's probably not for everyone. There are some people who just don't like the idea of being so out there. 

So neglecting your company page is not really an option.

Company pages may not get the same engagement rates as personal branding content.

But we've seen a different side to it once we started to:
→ leverage employee-generated content
→ engage the community from the company account
→ leverage video content

The way I see it...

Personal brands are optional.
(you can't force your employees to build one)

Company pages are mandatory.
(Should be treated like any other social channel and requires a content strategy)

And remember:

It's not Company page OR Personal brand.

It's Company page AND Personal brand. 

We have a super high client retention rate, and most of it is because of the results we provide. 

But more than that, it's also...

✅ responding to emails and queries in max. 24 hours
✅ updating our clients on the work regularly
✅ being proactive with new ideas and implementations
✅ being available for emergencies and ad-hoc requests
✅ being flexible with deadlines, workload and more
✅ keeping Slack channels open for any questions, anytime
✅ being honest when something's not working
✅ being transparent with budgets and spend

👆🏼 Most of it is communication and management.

You could be the best marketer in the world, but without open communication and proper client management...

You won't get very far unfortunately.

Most of our current clients have been with us since the early days (2021, 2022). 
And I would actually be heartbroken if they ever left.

That's the type of relationship you should aim for with your business partners.

The lazy way to great ads in 2024

I’m joking, there’s no shortcut.

Stop being lazy.

If you want great results with paid, you need to do the work.

That means:

⚡️conducting industry research 

⚡️conducting competitor research

⚡️ researching trending ad types

⚡️ creating customer profiles

⚡️ deciding on suitable ad platforms

⚡️ understanding your budgets

⚡️ testing creatives

⚡️ testing audiences

⚡️ testing copy

⚡️ testing campaign types

⚡️ interpreting data

⚡️ making informed decisions


Successful campaigns are not made overnight. 

There’s a lot of work behind a low CPA and a high CVR.

There’s one BIG reason why lots of businesses fail...

(it's probably not what you think 👇🏼)

❌ Resistance to change.

Lots of businesses want to increase revenue by keeping everything the same...

...which almost never works?

They don’t want to accept that they might need to…

→ use a different channel
→ change the landing page structure
→ revise their messaging
→ redesign their website
→ invest in paid campaigns
→ implement a proper marketing system

In situations like these, there’s only so much the agency can do.

So if you’re thinking of outsourcing your marketing, ask yourself this…

Am I willing to accept change?

As a digital marketer, I can't help but analyse every single ad I come across. 

And more often than not, my reaction is something along the lines of...

"How was this approved by their teams?"

or 

"How is this even an ad? Does this actually work for them?!"

I see a lot of terrible ads. 

But then every now and again, I come across a few that really impress me. 

When that happens, I usually...
→ take a screenshot
→ send it to Jordan
→ save it
→ analyse it
→ think about how I can replicate it for my clients

Some of the best ads I've seen recently for B2B brands out there are using User-Generated Content. 

Which is something we've also been using for about a year now, with fantastic results.

6 months ago, our client stopped asking us about each platform’s CPA. 

Instead, they started looking at the big picture. 

This is what they ask each month:

→ What’s the average monthly Cost-per-acquisition?

→ How much did we invest in marketing?

→ Is our top level Return on Investment positive and to our satisfaction?

→ [if CAC is decreasing/increasing] what’s changed this month?

→ Did we add any new campaigns or platforms that influenced the CAC?

→ Did we take out any campaigns or platforms that influenced the CAC?

→ Did we spend more? Did we spend less?

→ Did we see a sudden spike in organic performance? 

→ What should do more of? What should we do less of?

When you don't waste time on the small details, you get to:
✅ push forward new ideas every month
✅ have a more strategic approach
✅ be more creative 

All you really need to do is…

Ask the right questions.

Explain this.

I find it so interesting to hear such different perspectives from some of the biggest names in the industry - it reinforced what we already knew:  

→ B2B marketing is super complex
→ B2B buying journey has changed A LOT
→ Psychological triggers play a much big role now
→ There's huge shift from rational to emotional decisions

...and so much more. 

Which means that traditional B2B marketing strategies on their own won't cut it anymore. 

You need to adapt.
