Propagandhist Clothing Company

Back in my college years in 2003, I started this side hustle business to keep funding my education at the University. I have a few options because I also tried some business lines before focusing on the clothing line business, such as selling soft drinks and food for lunch during university events.

I chose to make this clothing line due to my strong interest in the urban culture and indie music movement in Jakarta and Bandung. I learned all the needed skills to start this business. Such as operating a computer-based graphic design program (Adobe Photoshop Corel Draw), screen printing a t-shirt, researching the place to find the raw materials & production vendors and learning how to create a distribution outlet (distro) to sell the products.

I managed to overcome the struggle of finding a good quality t-shirt production vendor by breaking down the production process into a few steps. I buy a large fabric stock in a well-known fabric market in Jakarta, design the apparel (primarily t-shirts), and send it to a tailor before printing it myself.

I continued the process for a while until I found out that many production vendors in Bandung offer high-quality apparel production services at a pretty affordable cost for a clothing business owner.

The business went pretty well until I decided to focus on my office hours work in 2005.
