I have a passion for all things Higher Ed. Teaching is my most beloved, having taught a variety of undergraduate writing and literature classes at the University of South Florida where I also completed a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I have been blessed with an adjunct teaching gig at the Judy Genshaft Honors College where I teach Humanities and co-led a service learning trip to the Dominican Republic. Starting Spring 2024 I am teaching students a visual storytelling class that leverages Artificial Intelligence to enhance creativity. I am also a proud staff member in the USF Office of Veteran Success. I started as Care Coordinator helping 8,000 military connected students solve problems such as housing and food insecurity, financial emergencies, and crises of physical or mental well-being. Among work highlights in that role are the crafting and execution of a Healing Through Writing Program. I also help these students prepare for careers by refining resumes, enhancing LinkedIn profiles, hosting professional panels, and establishing partnerships with companies that offer mentorship, internships, and great careers to our student. Other work at USF includes the Graduate Student Grievance Committee, the campus' 2015 Hispanic Heritage Celebration, and service on the leadership teams of both the Latino and Veteran Alumni. Probably some other stuff I forgot. I just can't get enough of this place! Meantime, I've somehow completed the first 80,000 words of a novel highlighting the veteran experience. Look for my book, VSO in 2024; I just need to finish writing it, secure an editor, rewrite it probably, and then there you have it. Yes, I'm having a great time in life!
