Dennis supported formulation and implementation of a regional communications strategy. In addition, he spearheaded formulation, development and implementation of a regional media strategy. Dennis led writing and editing roles for six country programmes - Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Somalia/Somaliland and Zambia- for materials such monthly e-bulletins, social media content, impact stories, brochures, flyers, annual reports, and z-cards.
Besides, he spearheaded media relations; ensuring the organisation created and sustained engagement with the media, in six programme countries, in order to enhance its profile, visibility, through brand journalism.

Regional Corporate Communications Officer

World Vision Kenya

Dennis led communications for the Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme; which was geared towards improving the well-being of vulnerable children.
The communications responsibility involved creating understanding and visibility for the WASH programme.  In addition, Dennis supported communications and advocacy for other thematic areas such as education, health, nutrition, livelihoods, refugees, emergency response and climate change adaptation and resilience. This was achieved through various development of content for publications (impact stories, brochures and annual reports) used for fundraising/marketing and creating visibility for the organisation. 

Besides, the communications role involved working with the media to highlight the impact of World Vision's interventions in 35 of Kenya's 47 counties, where the organisation has operations. The media engagement was through field visits, formulation, editing and pitching of Thought Leadership (Op-Eds)   and offering media training for staff. 

Some of the key achievements were offering communications input for celebrations to mark World Vision Kenya's 40th anniversary and the production of a WASH photobook.

Dennis conceptualised, and wrote appealing news stories, and more than 100 feature articles,  on various areas/themes. He developed a knack for development journalism by highlighting socio-economic issues such as agriculture, business, HIV/Aids, education, youth, women empowerment, WASH and climate change.

For instance, he proactively and extensively filed feature stories based on the impact and achievements of the Sauri Millennium Village Project, in Siaya County, Kenya (the first millennium village) and Lake Victoria: the world's largest tropical freshwater lake.
Furthermore, Dennis honed his editing, proofreading and photography skills.

Dennis carried out part-time consultancy services for NGOs and individuals. Some of the services included:

	Editing and proofreading documents. For example, I co-edited the book: "The 
Secrets of Hidden Knowledge." A book written by Prof Ayub V.O Ofulla and published in 2013 by Abbott Press, Bloomington, US.
	Documentation NGOs' interventions impact through newsletters and newspaper stories.
	Training of staff of a number of NGOs on success stories writing and photography.
	Media relations- organising for media coverage.
