The President (Chair of the Board) ensures that the firm's duties to shareholders are being fulfilled by acting as a link between the board and upper management. Aeon Blue is a Direct Air Capture and renewable fuels company currently scaling a technology that uses low cost renewable energy and saltwater to make eSAF, eNG, eDiesel and Aeon Blue Crude, a market-competitive carbon-negative oil that will be made strategically in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and other locations with access to rich renewables and global shipping. As CSTO, Deóis has operational responsibilities regarding technology selection and development (Intellectual Property, mostly as patents and trade secrets but including engineering, development and deployment).

Alternative fuels: Doty Scientific has a staff of exceptional employees, including 3 PhD’s; additional scientists and engineers with masters degrees or BS degrees; and several highly skilled machinists and technicians. Over half of our employees have been with the company for more than seven years. Our strengths lie primarily in physics, biochemistry and electrical, mechanical and manufacturing engineering.

Doty Windfuels was a company under Doty Scientific exploring research and development in Reverse Watergas Shift (RWGS) and the technical obstacles to electrosynthetic fuels (“efuels”), particularly in the valorization of renewable synthesis gas (CO2+H2).

Fuel Cells Division: In a project for optimization of small organic molecule fuel cells, and particularly the Direct Dimethyl Ether Fuel Cell, Deóis invented a process to achieve improved performance above previous records by 300% in current density at 0.5V and over 150% increase in peak power density.

Fuel cell operation and maintenance, catalyst conditioning, fuel cell testing, portable power applications and small molecule oxidation on platinum alloys.

Alternative fuels: From Offices in Los Alamos, NM, Deóis provided scientific, technological and energy commerce business strategy design and authority to build VIPS into an "Alternative Energy to Gas-To-Liquids"​ spearhead (now known as "Blue Crude"), with solid strategy and resource identification to overturn the current petrochemical paradigm. The company portfolio is designed to empower and enrich Native American communities, American minorities and veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Chief Science and Technology Officer; Vice President of Research & Development

Alternative fuels: VIPS is a minority-owned, Native American and Veterans'​ start up alternative and nonconventional petroleum-type fuels company with a very promising tribal and private land-contract portfolio. Deóis provided expert scientific and technological guidance and developed business strategy to build VIPS into an nonconventional Gas-To-Liquids company (on the model of Ras Laffan, QAPCO), on which he wrote his theses.

Fuel cells and hydrogen: Electrochemistry of Fuel Cell relevant reactions on Platinum alloys, Cu, Pd, Ag, etc, Sonochemical Nanoparticle Syntheses, Sol-Gel Synthesis of Metal-Oxide Frameworks, etc, Design and Construction of a Fixed Bed Continuous Flow Reactor (Fischer-Tropsch, Watergas Shift, etc). These studies involved extensive use and multiple Schlenk-line builds from scratch, limited glass-working, multiple full rebuilds of vacuum pumps and high-pressure gas plumbing, troubleshooting and testing-analysis-verification-safety approval. Also included were explosives training, multiple bench-top wet chemistry synthetic methods including impregnation, epoxide reduction, organometallic synthesis and alkali metal assisted reductions.

Graduate Research Appointee

During this period Deóis provided instruction for chemistry undergraduate courses, freshmen through juniors for two semesters, and primary school education as a National Science Foundation (NSF) fellow with classroom appointment for 6th graders through university juniors at all levels, where he taught mathematics from pre-algebra through calculus as well as biology, chemistry, physics, geometry and other topics. He then volunteered to teach young students due to the highly rewarding and valuable experiences for both himself and for primary school children. The final program he worked with is the Wylie School District's GATE (Gifted Advanced Talented Excelling) students in Abilene, TX with Robin Hart, primary school teacher and Texas Tech PhD student.

University Instructor

Deóis was the designer and involved in all phases of purpose, conception, design and construction principally to build a large chemical reactor for research (Fixed Bed, Continuous Flow, 6-gas feed, water cooled, later modified to Primed High Pressure Plug Flow designs) for Fischer-Tropsch, Water-Gas Shift, Carbon Monoxide Oxidation and Carbon Dioxide Methanation reactions over catalysts he synthesized in wet chemistry laboratories. Deóis assisted with some other complex scientific equipment, technical instrument manipulation and assembly, as well as smaller design and fabrication projects. 

Under the direction of the senior technician, he conducted some TIG welding, brazing, weld repair, machining via HAAS Numeric Mill, stock selection, metalworking, all design, and all high pressure gas plumbing involved.

Deóis also conducted full rebuilds and servicing of vacuum pumps, multistep and multimaterial fabrication, and some limited glass-blowing.

Deóis acquired an advanced understanding of the resources available to industrial research chemistry from a superior machine shop, and became a competent junior machinist in the process.

Algal biodiesel and new biofuels: In the first part of this study, Deóis studied the biochemistry of biofuels and algal biodiesel derived from Nannochloropsis spp. Nannochloropsis optimization, growth conditions in the arid desert, open and closed culture, "triggering"​ and analysis.

In the second phase of this research, Deóis isolated native halophiles (primarily archaebacteria) of Southeastern New Mexico from a wide variety of surface evaporation ponds, artificial salt harvesting ponds, brackish reservoirs and deep sub-surface salt-rock from the Salado formation of Permian Basin (2150 ft underground). He studied halophile biochemistry in both native isolates and APCC standard cultures for analysis for both biodegredation of actinide chelating agents/sensitivity to transuranics and also primarily as arid-land adapted photosynthetic light-harvesters for biofuel development (via total biomass pyrolysis) in arid, semi-arid, and saline environments in order to reduce the estimated 12 trillion ga/a of fresh water required for US biodiesel production. LANL collaborated with CEHMM (http://www.cehmm.org/) in Carlsbad, NM, for the development of algal biodiesel.
