As founder of Acegirl Innovation Lab, I am excited to empower modern parents to excel in their professional and personal pursuits while providing them with continued support in their breastfeeding journeys. Acegirl is a Sydney based, impact focused FemTech and MedTech start up that is designing the next generation products and services to elevate the experiences for all lactating women, starting with working parents. Prior to taking this giant leap, I had over 15 years’ experience with investments both in a large hedge fund and big four firms. I started my career at EY in superannuation funds, before moving on to KPMG focusing on alternative investments. I eventually went to Nephila Capital, a global hedge fund focusing on natural catastrophe and climate risks. I specialised in investor relations and due diligence, ESG, commercial operations and finance, valuation, transaction structuring and fund set up, fund accounting as well as governance in the climate and catastrophe risk transfer industry. As a director in the climate funds, I was responsible for governance of the fund activities in the interest of investors. While I enjoyed the intellectual challenges of the corporate environment, I also had a philanthropic side to me which I embraced through years of volunteer work that eventually led to me spending close to a month in Haiti sleeping in a tent while helping families rebuild their homes in small ways. Those experiences have caused me to be intrinsically curious about exploring ways in which the business community can creatively design products that benefit both the investor and achieve positive environmental and social impact in the world while seeking alpha. In 2019, I had the privilege of being part of the founding committee that launched a not for profit to provide the community with a means to connect women from all walks of life with an emphasis on empowering women through health. Every experience has converged to this point and Acegirl was inevitably founded in 2022. She is a company that truly brings together the profit and not for profit paradigms in an impactful manner that sets out to achieve a number of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
