In my role as Director of Marketing Content at Deem, I am responsible for creating a scalable marcom team and strategy. I also create brand messaging, and plan, organize and produce marcom assets. I create internal and external messaging for company initiatives and executives, write and distribute press releases, and strategize media relations activity. I have also taken on digital marketing to improve the quality and quantity of leads. And I slay award entries: I wrote 22 winning awards for the brand, including multiple 2022 Fast Company and American Business Awards including the latest, announced April 2023 (Silver).

I manage and mentor a small team that helps execute social media and product/sales enablement assets, and select and manage external agencies.

I like to say I’m in the business of art. I develop brands, create content strategies, solve customer problems and increase shareholder value.

I create original, SEO-ranking copy for various lead generating vehicles that result in pipeline revenue. Projects I’ve worked on have generated more than $4M each, and some have lead to record numbers of webinar attendees or product demos.

Copywriting projects include thought leadership whitepapers, email and nurture campaigns along with helping to identify best practices and increasing email open rates to a 2016 average of 19% (up from single digits). I create digital ads, website landing pages, feature articles, video and live-event scripts, ghostwriting and articles responding to current events.

I also develop relationships with partner marketing staff; make recommendations on operational efficiency. I loved working with the #bestteamever but we made the move to the Bay Area for my husband’s work.

Hired as a temporary consultant to elevate retail brand and reach a more targeted audience, create opportunity to more easily expand nationally (in addition to current Arizona and Colorado locations). Provided full audit on existing marketing efforts; identified appropriate audience and their primary interests; created marketing strategy; created new social media strategy and content, email campaigns; managed budget. 

Realigned in-house marketing department to create in-house agency; adjusted staff responsibilities for efficacy and development; managed staff of 4 and external agency.

Director of Marketing / Consultant

Adorama

Managed brand and message through advertising and print materials. Created new brands and standards for all brands, concepts and copy for ad campaigns. Managed everything done in print including writing and producing catalogs. Created and managed $2M advertising buy schedule, negotiated multi-level contracts (often including print and other media components), evaluated advertising opportunities and provided recommendations as well as tracked ad performance.

I also led all of the marketing, PR and communication efforts for our in-house brands. This included new product naming and identity creation, strategy planning for launches and all marketing, annual marketing planning and execution, trade shows, etc. The oldest brand achieved significant sales increases after I assumed marketing/PR; one newly launched brand earned significant editorial coverage in leading national publications including Slashgear, CNet, etc. I also managed the external creative agency and public relations agency, which resulted in a 40%+ increase in earned media.

Lots of writing - articles, press releases, radio and video scripts, advertising concept and copywriting, etc. Redesigned, wrote and produced quarterly consumer catalogs. Also reporting and presenting analysis of tracking.

On-camera host of AdoramaTV product overview videos; included pre-production, working with vendors to acquire products and information including correct positioning, script writing and production.

Saks Fifth Avenue

Created strategy to increase foot traffic through store including developing media relationships and planning and executing events
Acquired a full day of TV coverage within first 30 days in this position (and having relocated back to NY in June 2012)
Developed relationships with local media and external organizations/charities
Represented Saks at external events and to the community
As part of leadership team, was occasionally the senior person managing the store
Returned to photography industry when it became known that Saks was being sold.

Co-creator of digital photography studio in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Our marketing/social media strategy and photography education video built snapfactory into an internationally recognized brand with a very high level of online audience engagement and national contracts. (Youtube.com/snapfactory)

Produced professional photo/video shoots for clients, handling everything from planning, casting calls, hiring freelancers, renting equipment and studios when needed, shooting, editing and file delivery. I worked cooperatively with company owners, art directors and agencies, and staff, and created comfortable, positive sets that encouraged the best performance from everyone involved.

ASU Art Museum

Created visibility for the museum both on and off campus by developing media and community relationships, creating and maintaining the museum’s social media presence (and content for main museum site) and representing the museum at events in the business community and at events throughout ASU.

Results, on-campus: invited to participate in the ASU Communications team that covered important university events such as President Obama's commencement speech; was guest-speaker at PR classes in Cronkite School, earned regular front-page placements on the competitive ASU News website

Results, off-campus: launched new family programs that drew as many as 200 attendees, created and developed partnerships with business community including teaching social media workshops, art walk-type community projects. Increased overall attendance and earned media in local and regional publications.
