The Undergraduate Opportunity Research Scholars’ Program unites undergraduate education and faculty research in a team-based context. The focus of the project is analyzing and modeling ambient indoor light energy harvested by PV cell, network energy usage and optimizations for design of an energy harvasting system.
• Implemented advanced Matlab language to calculate data used to predict the behavior 40 by 40 solar panel
• Designed an operable Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) via Matlab
• Set aside 7-10 hours a week to set and meet group deadlines
• Contributed in providing details of the groups’ progress in weekly one to one reviews
• Received 3rd place in ORS for best presentation and research

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Applied Research (REAR) Lab undertakes applied research and development targeting the increased health and function of persons with disabilities. Specific areas of interest include: biomechanics of wheelchair seating, manual wheelchair propulsion, pressure ulcer prevention, and the treatment and development of diagnostic and assistive technologies.
• Implemented mbed microcontroller on clients’ wheelchair to take measurements using potentiometers.

The Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program unites undergraduate education and faculty research in a team-based context. The Blimp Docking team aims to create and provide a unique latching and charging system that can be placed on the platform of a miniature robot (Omnibot) in order to catch and detach a flying miniature blimp for fast charging.
• Designed latching mechanism via Solidworks
• Collaborated in the design and implementation of circuitry involving latching system to Omnibot
• Program Arduino using DIGI XCTU for the computers to communicate wirelessly to blimp, Omnibot, and latching system
