You don't have to connect with everyone on LinkedIn

There I say it.

Let me tell you a story

In 2022, I started moving more and more on LinkedIn and less on UPWORK (some people like it, but that party was "The Red Wedding" for me).

At that time I connected with everyone, and sent 100 connection requests per month.

In a couple of months, I managed to have more than 1.5 k connections.

But that didn't make things easier for me, because there was no relationship behind it.

And as I wasn't publishing content, all I did was have a collection of "Stone Statues"

In Q3-Q4 of that year I severed like 90% of those "contacts" (I was ruthless)

And started being more intentional in my approach to people (entering the commenting phase)

But engaging with people 8 - 10 hours per day it's nuts

Unsustainable, and most of the time useless

Unless you publish content, they don't have an incentive to reach out to you

Besides, most people don't have 8 hours

An exec could have maybe 1 hour tops

And this will give the wrong vibe:

You can't be a successful professional in your business if you hang out for 8 hours here.

So, what to do?

The easy way (for like 10% of people here)
Let someone else do it for you (I don't like this one)

The other way:

Pick a niche.

Pick a skill PEOPLE WANT TO PAY YOU FOR.

Optimize your profile around that skill (Be specific).

Publish content about your niche, and connect that skill with it.

Comment on posts and connect with people in that niche(s).

Master the arts of outreach and content writing.

Visit people's profiles, websites, and newsletters, and look for pain points.

Personalize your message and offer (This is super important nowadays!)

Go and send people those offers using emails and DMs.

I don't like to call this a "numbers game" but in a way it is

Your personalized message will help you, but go in batches of 15-20 messages.

"But Diego, I don't have experience, nor testimonials"

My answer: Offer one free service

If you have a strategy for this outreach

That will be your first "foot on the door"

Become better and better, and people will reach out to you

Little by little, you will start having your "Stairway to Heaven"

Use these 4+1 tips to boost your visitors' trust:

1. Get an SSL certificate (first and foremost): This is a crucial security protocol.

It's essential for securing online transactions and protecting user data like names, addresses, credit card numbers, and other financial details.

2. Include reviews using apps like Trustpilot or your preferred one: Social Proof will increase trust in your selling process.

3. Optimize the process to be easy: No one likes complicated steps. People are willing to go through a maximum of four screens. Try to keep it even simpler.

4. Be clear with your conditions: Amazon set a high standard, and now everyone expects their stuff in 24 hours. Clearly state your conditions if you can't meet that.

Some people will leave, but others will stay. This step will help you avoid refunds and complaints.

BONUS Tip: Here's a trick of the trade: Include a little shield icon in the buy button. That can increase your conversion rate by 1-2% even.

As always, test all of this from time to time. Great results come from continuous, small efforts.

This is important because it affects your ability to convert leads.

The "About me" section has moved up and is now positioned above your posts.

It was always important, but now it's even more so.

Follow these tips to make it attractive to your audience.

1. Start with research about what interests them. What are their pain points and how can you help them?

2. The first two lines are VERY IMPORTANT. Write them as a hook to encourage them to click "See more."

PRO TIP: Answer these two questions to create a good hook:

- What do I want to say?
- Is it clear what I want to say?

3. Use the P.A.S formula "Problem - Agitate - Solution" to address their situation. Make sure to agitate it well.

4. Include steps about your work process. And make it easy. Remember, people are busy; they don't want complicated onboarding processes.

5. End with a simple CTA asking for a minimum viable commitment.

Pro TIP: Many of us are in favor of a single word in DMs. In my case, it's "Funnel."

If you're in Real Estate, it might be "Real Estate."

If you're an accountant, it might be "Accounting."

IMPORTANT: Use 1-liner for formating. Include bullets and even emojis, because those are fun (just don't overuse them).

Answer these two questions:
- What I'm trying to say here?
- Is this clear enough for my ICP?

Example of a hook for a sales post:
