GINSEP (German Indian Startup Exchange Program)

The German Indian Startup Exchange Program (GINSEP) is a non-monetary platform initiated by the German Startups Association and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) to strengthen and foster the German-Indian economic relations in the field of startups. The main aim of the GINSEP is to promote an exchange between both startup ecosystems. Within the GINSEP, the German Startups Association acts as a neutral intermediary channelling the information flow between the Indian and the German startup ecosystem. The GINSEP wants to support both German and Indian founders in their efforts to not only understand but ultimately also be able to access the other country’s ecosystem.

Since so many of you loved my podcast episode with Justin Vogel of Safary 🦁 , here’s the TL;DR with my favourite takeaways + a few spicy quotes.

We covered:
 • Why Web3 doesn’t have a marketing talent crisis

1️⃣  “The marketing crisis is a myth.”
 
Justin’s take: It’s not a shortage of talent.
 The real problem?
 Founders hire 3 months before TGE and expect 1 person to handle:
 BD, devrel, brand, social, and product marketing.

“Early stage doesn’t need a CMO. You need doers, not generals without armies.”

 2️⃣ Web2 skills still matter.

 Before crypto, Justin ran marketplace growth — building 10k+ dev communities and testing financial incentives before “airdrops” had a name.
Lesson: Incentives + community = rocket fuel.

3️⃣ Build your brand before you need it.
 He started anonymous, summarising growth articles and tagging authors.

“I got meetings with big names before I had 1,000 followers.”

Connections > clout.

4️⃣  Most ‘communities’ aren’t communities.
 
The 2021 meta? Discords with 100k ghosts.
Safary flipped it:

 • Closed, curated (350 members in 3 years)
 • Audio-first weekly calls
 • Competitors openly sharing growth playbooks

5️⃣  Data is no longer an excuse.
 
2022: On-chain & off-chain data were silos.
2024: CDPs like Safary + attribution tools + referral platforms mean you can track the full user journey.
“For the first time, people are marketing to users, not just TGE speculators.”

💬 Big takeaway:
 
Great Web3 growth = user obsession + data + a trusted peer network.
