An unexpected turn taught me lessons I would not have learned otherwise.

I will talk about the lessons later but let me tell you something that caught me totally unaware.

For a few days, I have been feeling some uneasiness in my stomach. I lost some weight recently and although it is a good thing usually, for me it was not.

I have been maintaining almost the same weight for the last 30 years. 

This sudden weight loss got me worried and I decided to visit the hospital for a thorough check-up. And they performed a lot of tests.

Finally, they declared the verdict to a trembling me.

I had some erosions (some red ulcerative patches in my stomach). Not very serious, though.

But a bit aggravated because of my diabetes. 

They suggested meds and released me.

Lesson learned: never neglect health, even if it seems like a small problem.

Nothing in this world is good enough to compensate for the loss of health.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

This snapped me back from a spell of working late hours and neglecting workouts.

Although I am cautious about my diet and lifestyle but sometimes, I get carried away. 

I promised myself never to repeat the mistake.

And I decided to double down on breathing exercises.

They are great stressbusters.

I suggest you spend 10 minutes a day doing them.

I joined a big fat Indian wedding recently after a long time and realized that it had a lot of similarities with my work.

Yes, that’s correct.

𝗜𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Indian weddings are very colorful and high on the entertainment quotient. Great vibes. Songs and dances. Awesome engagement for everyone.

Everyone is in high spirits. (Although Indian weddings are zero alcohol affairs).

Kind of a carnival. Kind of a game where everybody is sure to win.

To be successful, an Indian wedding is planned months in advance.
 
Invitees are carefully chosen, and everyone’s likes and dislikes are noted down. 

Then the location, dinner menu, and venue decor are decided upon based on the ideal invitee profile, Does that remind you of the Ideal Customer Profile?

These days Indian weddings are well-designed events.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

They sometimes remind me of Apple’s product launch events.

Or The Super Bowl. 

Then you talk about the marriage, the arrangements, and everything else so that the expectations are sky-high on the wedding day.

It’s very similar to a product launch.

If I launch a product to an email list, I would do something similar.

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵.

Frequent emails must be it.

Supported by Google and social media ads.

Craft an engaging story, and design smashing creatives to take your audience’s breath away.

In fact, Indian celebrity weddings are complete marketing events.
