Yes, I’m a DJ, but I’ve broken the mold. I began as a club and concert DJ in Detroit, performing on stages with Eminem, Beyoncé, Big Sean, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and many others. While I maintained my DJ career, I put my law and business degrees into practice as the owner of a digital marketing agency, helping clients with content creation and strategy, managing traffic, and converting sales. Things were good, but my work wasn’t lighting a fire. That all changed during COVID. With the pandemic, came the opportunity to use my talents to lift people’s spirits. I started with two virtual sets a week on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch, allowing people to let go of their problems for an hour and just enjoy the music. Even remotely, I could feel the energy of people in the “room,” and it helped me as much — if not more — than it helped them. THIS lit my fire by allowing me to be a light, and unequivocally pointed me in the direction of offering my services as a DJ to corporations for virtual events and in-person parties. This feels like a calling. Each event is a unique opportunity to make a difference. I talk to each client to learn about their goals and objectives, leveraging my own experience in sales, marketing, and public speaking to create a one-of-a-kind interactive journey that lifts spirits, boosts morale, and unites diverse and distributed audiences. Music feeds the soul. It can spread joy and help us forget about our problems. My DJ sets are meant to do that while also inspiring deep thought and creativity. I’m looking forward to building long standing relationships with my clients (including GitLab, Nike, Google, Campbell's, Cisco, Workday, Dell, ManyChat, SAS, and more) — much like a membership at a gym — to keep everyone engaged and inspired.
