I was the first in my family to graduate from college, it was a privilege for me coming from a blue collar family to have a profession that made my father proud. He was a hardworking man and I still remember while I was in college he was informed the pension that he had worked for in his 20 plus years was being eliminated and they gave him a check and wished him well. That provided the inspiration for me to one day manage others or have my own business by the time I was 40. That decision was made for me on Sept 7, 2001. I was making in the six figures, had all the perks of being in a sales support position was a dream then , I was laid off and the economy was in the tank. No one wanted technical people to go to work they feared they would leave when the economy turned around. This was my opportunity for going into a business where I could make a difference. My daughter was born that year, my wife was working 7 days a week to support us and my new business it was a stressful, it was hard time hard times for our family. I began my path in the mortgage business. Within a year I obtained my real estate license. I remember the process of buying my first home and I did not have a real estate agent to help guide me I purchased the home from the owner. I learned at Christmas that year the loan office had not done the loan correctly and had not escrowed for city taxes and my mortgage payment jumped 150 a month. I was not prepared for that. I took that experience into my foray into lending then into my real estate career. I did not want anyone to experience the issues I did and this was my chance to make a difference and be in business for myself. My passion is providing education and empowerment for my client whether they are buying, selling, or leasing. I take that experience along with the 7 years I spent in the lending world to ensure my clients have the best experience and have an exit plan. If you are a member of a 501 C3 board i would love to speak with you about funding without having to have fundraising campaigns. Did you know there is 8 billion a year in donations to charity and only 2 percent comes from real estate. What if you had members that have real estate but you don’t accept real estate directly? There is a way to receive gifts or real estate with no risk to the 501c3.
