• Assembled background information about academic integrity, include statements of our policies and disciplinary procedures, information and statistics about sanctions imposed, and descriptions of the educational programs and activities that inform students, faculty, and administrators about academic integrity on our campus.
• Used Qualtrics to collect online data from students and faculty regarding their overall knowledge of Academic Integrity at St. Edward's University.

At one point in my career, I used to count down the seconds to Friday at 5pm.

My weekends were an escape from all the stress & anxiety that the workweek brought.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my work and the company.

But the micromanagement is what I deeply disliked.

Here's what micromanagers do:

→ slow down progress 
→ instill fear in their team 
→ ask for constant updates 
→ don't trust people do their jobs 
→ cause folks to doubt themselves

No one should be staring down the clock until they can escape a micromanager.

Everyone deserves a job (and leader) that doesn't make them count down the seconds until the weekend!

Imagine you had wealth beyond anything you could ever need.

I’m not talking just comfortable, not even just rich.

I mean ridiculously wealthy.

MacKenzie Scott’s net worth is estimated at around $41 billion.

And she didn’t just inherit that kind of wealth.

She built it alongside her partner who rose to one of the richest men in the world.

In 2025 alone, she has donated close to $750 million to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

I mean she could have really done anything with her wealth.

But she decided that this was an important move.

Since 2019, she has also donated billions of dollars to over 2,000 nonprofits through her Yield Giving foundation.

So many of these organizations are focused on:

→ climate change 
→ racial justice 
→ healthcare 
→ education 
→ housing

And she’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Wealth isn’t always a bad thing.

It’s what you do with it that makes all the difference.

Sometimes the best hires aren’t the ones with the fancy degrees or big company titles.

New hires can be just as good leaders as the CEOs.

Never overlook someone because of their current job title!

Many people travel to see family they haven't seen in a year.

And are forced to answer awkward questions about life or career.

One of my friends is considering turning down a $550K job offer because they're scared of layoffs in 2026.

The company they interviewed with is offering $300k base with an additional $250k in stocks.

This might sound like the offer of a lifetime, but what if they leave their stable job just to be laid off in 4 or 5 months.

Then most of that big pay package instantly goes away overnight.

There are some companies that are known for mass layoffs.

And there are others who have done their best to avoid them.

Even if that meant cutting executive compensation or office lease agreements.

Would you take this risk for the potential of a big payday?

I don’t understand employers that don’t allow WFH.

WFH doesn’t just mean work from home.

WFH also means work, family, health.

In 2020, Facebook / Meta went full-time remote like everyone else.

But as things started to return to normal, they gave employees a CHOICE—either return to the office or go full-time remote.

I chose to be full-time remote.

Let me explain why I did:

Work - I thrived in a remote setting and produced my best work ever. That landed me a promotion and the best performance review I’ve ever gotten.

Family - From a week in the DR with my dad, to spontaneous weekend trips with my mom, to 3 weeks in Europe with my wife. I’ve never been able to spend so much time with my family.

Health - the FB15 turned into the FB50. When I was going into the office every day, I gained 50lbs. But when we went remote I lost 70lbs. I now go on daily walks and my health has never been better.

I get it, not everyone can be WFH (nor wants to be).

But for those that can do their jobs remotely—give them CHOICE.

WFH = Work. Family. Health.

I keep hearing older folks call Millennials and Gen Z lazy.

In my opinion, this is far from the truth.

The truth is that younger folks have been living through unprecedented event after unprecedented event.

School in a pandemic
Horrible job market
Mass layoffs

And if they don't get married and buy a house by 30, they are "behind in life."

Times have changed - and we need to change our mindsets with it.

Millennials and Gen Z aren’t lazy.

They are just tired of toxic bosses, unrealistic goals, & your inability to accept flexible and remote work.

People are just out there doing their best - give them a break!

Most people don’t quit their job because they hate the work.

They quit because they are tired of:

- toxic managers
- unrealistic goals
- slow career growth
- bad company culture
- mediocre tech & tools

If your best people are quitting, YOU might be the problem.

Starting in 2026, Instagram employees must be in-office 5 days per week.

Meta worth $1.61 trillion and employs about 79,000 people globally.

My friends at the company are telling me that they are considering quitting.

But they know if they quit, they don't get paid out severance.

My advice to corporate employees: 

Never quit!

Wait until they lay you off, so you can walk away with benefits.

Inevitably this will eventually spill over to the rest of the company.
