My passion is problem solving with technology – mainly using data and analytics, however my professional career has taken me through numerous industries and various roles which has allowed me to gain a broad depth of knowledge. I have always aimed to build meaningful, and mutually beneficial relationships as these are the foundations for the way I choose to conduct business. My 10+ years at Digital Planet has been spent mostly in the technology area of the business, dealing with business analysis, business intelligence and analytics, systems development, and process improvement. Some of my proudest achievements are related to the new departments I have been involved in establishing, all of which have gone on to become integral to the success of the various businesses. I am a huge believer in people development and am incredibly proud of how the teams I have been part of have gone on to achieve amazing careers. Some the most notable highlights from my time have been related to monetisation of customer facing self service solutions, 40% reduction in internal analytics support requests, and numerous system cost and efficiency improvements. I am passionate about data usage, and the analytics industry, from data storytelling, visualization through to cloud data warehousing and data science, and whatever the AI future brings for us. I am also an advocate for data literacy advancement as I firmly believe that this area holds huge potential for current general business users as well as for future generations to differentiate the country in the global technology game. I am an active participant in the South African data community, and thoroughly enjoy speaking at industry events on a wide variety of topics. I also coach and mentor young professionals and have volunteered my time working with the global “She Loves Data” organisation.
