My primary role was Account Management support. I helped develop, maintain and grow strong relationships with key customers. I maintained constant communication with clients. I managed, developed and created campaign projects - ensuring their smooth implementation by working closely with the retail and Marketing team and made sure we always stuck to deadline. I briefed and assisted agencies/clients with special project creative and editorial requirements. I ensured Agency deliverables were met according to client and business strategy. I assisted in Marketing Campaign development from brief to implementation at a retail level. I managed Retail Budget & Financial responsibilities – including correct utilization of retail budgets and management of Retail Accrual Account. I managed & maintained relationships with key Stakeholders (Operators & Retailers) and ensured marketing strategies were executed correctly, with an Integrated execution of all customer marketing promotions & trade-wide retail promotions with key retailers &/or operator focus. I developed, submitted and followed-up on forecasts, business plans and budgets in relation to sales and marketing activities. I possessed thorough understanding of the business, including specific business objectives, challenges and any competitor activity. I acted as a support structure to Call Centers & service providers. It was my duty to adapt all Global Marketing Campaigns to be locally relevant at a retail level to ensure optimum reach and exposure. I was the Nokia South Africa Brand Custodian at a Retail level.

Trade Marketing

My function was that of Web/Music editor responsible for the build of Ovi Music Store 3.0 (Now known as Nokia Music Store: NMS). I was responsible for Merchandising the online music store. I had Hands-on experience in various Content Management Systems and Created Online Store Marketing Assets. I Maintained the merchandising calendar and identified new merchandising trends and opportunities. I delivered & was responsible for music store localization and sales. I worked with the different business units, teams, and marketing department to prioritize and select relevant content with regards to different Nokia platforms. I conducted industry trend analysis within music, mobile, online and telecommunications industries. Content selection included platforms such as Facebook, twitter, MXiT, Ringaz blog, podcasts and other social networks. I managed content programming and operations on a daily basis: Daily & weekly updates: Playlist compiling, briefing designers in Bristol on banner and special promotional pages graphic and design. I assisted with technical requirements re creative (flash, third party tags etc.) I drove Nokia Music Store marketing decisions across all Nokia touch-points and media. I was responsible for Newsletter editing, compiling, creation database management and sending. I was the Voice of Ovi Music for monthly Podcast show. I actively identified promotional opportunities based on sales and usage trends. I ensured Global Marketing efforts were initiated, while maintaining and fostering key relationships within the Music Service group: With Ovi Music team – regional & global, Editorial coordinator, Graphic Design team, Content team, within larger Nokia organization for all administrative issues, key relationships outside of Nokia, Record labels and label managers, Digital and marketing agencies. I supported and managed clients technical queries and managed processes between digital teams & agencies to ensure smooth implementation of special campaigns.

Music / Web Editor for Nokia Music Store

I was responsible for Relationship development, as well as the management, development and implementation of communication efforts. I developed product marketing campaigns, conducted industry research and analysis. I was responsible for Event Marketing & the management and coordination of marketing staff and activities. I ensured Global Marketing efforts were initiated. I developed and implemented an effective marketing and promotions plan for the institute. I was responsible for the management, development and implementation of online marketing and promotions campaigns via the web and social networking sites. I was required to conduct database management. I managed a marketing and promotions budget. I developed and implemented an Events and Promotions schedule with Promotions and Events Manager. I was required to set up joint marketing ventures with 3rd parties.
