I lead BIGWAVE, an podcast-led growth agency that helps founders and CEOs scale their businesses. I’ve spent 12 years building businesses and advising customers and clients on how to grow their own. I got my start in business and marketing at 17 years old as a professional dog walker in NYC. To generate my first ever leads, I hung a bucket of treats and business cards on a fence. My first foray into OOO advertising worked like a charm. The taste of freedom (and cash) I got compared to my friend’s summer jobs was thoroughly rewarding, but alas, this did not prove to be my billion dollar idea. I then launched a wholesale marketplace, Self to Shelf, to connect independent retailers with makers across the country. I managed the development of our two-sided platform and handled all of our marketing and sales. There I learned the unique struggle of managing a business while ensuring leads and customers flow in at a steady clip. We scaled to hundreds of merchants and this did prove to be a billion dollar idea! But, alas, it was one of our competitors, not us, who made the idea work and achieved such a lofty valuation. I’ve since spent 6 years in the marketing and advertising industry, working with agency owners to help them build unique sales programs and growth engines. I’m semi-bi-coastal (I only live on one coast but fly back and forth to NYC a lot). My hobby, if you can call it that, is weekend vacations. I have all but given up chasing billion dollar ideas* but am exceptionally gifted at helping other people peddle their million (and multi-million) dollar ideas. *narrator: he did not give up chasing that billion dollar idea.
