Crochet Surprise is a direct to consumer ecommerce brand headquartered in Indiana. On a monthly basis, we send out a brand new crochet project to our customers worldwide.

Founded the company with two other friends. 

As many entrepreneurs can relate, each of us wore many hats whilst growing the company. 

During the startup phase, I set up the servers and the Kentico Content Management System (CMS) that would power many of our client websites. I also programmed our client websites, looked after clients, trained and hired staff and also sold websites and marketing packages.

During the growth phase, we built a team to well over 45 staff including programmers, web designers, account managers and graphic designers. 

It was during this high growth phase, that we set up a digital marketing team to help clients beyond just having a website. This included:
1. Search engine optimization (SEO)
2. Paid advertising including Facebook ads and Google Ads
3. Conversion rate optimization of landing pages
4. Content marketing

CTO & Co-Founder

Worked on various projects as a software developer. This included:
1. Developing a Point of Sale (POS) application that scanned barcodes, looked up price lists and charged the customer.  I also developed reporting functionality using Crystal Reports. This application was rolled out to over 3000 stores.
2. Development of a web application that handled customer management and the sign up process, which was rolled out to over 30,000 customers.

Software Developer

Motorola

.NET programmer and test manager for a public safety system developed for Hong Kong Police
This included:
1. Developing various .NET applications that read polling information from a UDP packet and specific port numbers. Also integrations with different APIs.
2. Developing test cases in Perl in order to test the aforementioned system
3. Configuration management in Rational Rose
4. Code reviews and walkthroughs
