I have a passion for sports, education and research. I am very interested in researching coaching, football, pedagogy, M & E, social status and sport, player development. I am heavily involved in grassroots football, where I coach my sons football team and have established a popular beginners ladies section at Brereton Social FC.

My youngest son is really enjoying his time as a school council member and got to meet our local Cannock Chase MP Josh Newbury MP today. They discussed SEN provision, local support for residents and life as an MP and voting in the house of commons. 

Proud of him and enjoying seeing him learn lessons for life ❤️❤️

What a brilliant and inspiring experience at the recent SRAG event at St. James’ Park, Newcastle — proudly sponsored by Sodexo.

A real highlight was meeting Matt Parfitt, the brains behind Half the Story, an organisation providing jobs for people with major barriers to employment, including homelessness, through something as simple — and powerful — as biscuits.

Yes, biscuits! But not just any biscuits — these are biscuits with a purpose. Each one tells a story, sparks a conversation, and supports a mission that truly matters. And they’re very, very tasty too! (and I am so happy that I took a pack home in my bag, perfect for a Friday treat!)

 A huge thank you to Preeti Bath, Christopher Martin FRSA CMgr FCMI FIEP, and Katie Lloyd for delivering an insightful Lunch & Learn session today to our SRAG members on the topic of Men’s Mental Health.

The discussion was a powerful reminder of how easily we can neglect our mental wellbeing. Preeti highlighted a critical point: too often, men feel the need to stay “Strong & Silent”. This reinforces the importance of creating non-judgmental spaces where everyone feels safe to speak up and seek support.

Thank you again to our speakers and all attendees for engaging in this key conversation. Together, we can help break down barriers and normalise open dialogue around mental health.
