As the Research Lead for the Ethnocultural Elder Abuse Project at Carya, I am passionate about building awareness, support, and tools for ethnically diverse communities and professionals working in the field of aging, ethnic diversity and elder abuse. I have over 15 years of experience in the academia and research field of aging and ethnic diversity, and I use my knowledge and skills to help organizations serve their older adult and diverse populations better. I am also a certified professional consultant on aging, a trauma-informed community-based facilitator, and a public speaker. I have delivered workshops, webinars, podcasts, and publications on topics such as the psychology of aging, cultural competence, compassion, and humility, and elder abuse prevention and intervention. My mission is to enhance the quality of life and well-being of all older adults and to challenge the negative stereotypes and stigma associated with aging and older people.
