Hey, I am Dr. Tru Powell and I am an multi-award winning personal branding expert and coach for creative entrepreneurs. I am also the Co-Founder and CEO of Black Business Magazine and Founder and CEO of the Multicultural Inspire Awards. I believe my purpose in life is to use my platform to help platform others, especially those from underrepresented communities. I am also an event host, podcast host, social commentator and I love to love my family. Follow me long enough and you will understand how much my family means to me. 

I come with an events background and use events to really make a difference and bring people together. I spent seven years of my career building up the MBCC Awards. I was the Co-Director and CEO of the brand assuming all responsibility for the operational running of the company and events. Some of the business highlights under my leadership was awarding Sir Trevor McDonald a lifetime achievement award, securing recognised sponsors and creating a recognised national brand, attracting people from all over the country. 
 
I understand the power of personal branding and visibility. I like to work with clients to help position them as experts in their industries. I like to support them to show up authentically online and use their authentic voices. This is my superpower.

I am Tru Powell and I help creative entrepreneurs build and monetise their personal brands. It's incredibly important for every entrepreneur and business leader to be visible by using the power of press and PR. My motto is if you are not visible, you are invisible. I use my proven blueprint over a series of programmes and mentoring schemes to power up personal brands.

I am the CEO of the Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards (MBCC Awards), a company that sets out to celebrate unsung heroes and champion diversity in the UK. The prestigious ceremony welcomes a staggering 800 and is growing year on year. As CEO, I am responsible for the company's growth and the entire operation. 

I am also the CEO of the Black Business Magazine, the UK's premium online and print publication for Black business. The magazine as been created to uplift and empower the Black community. 

I am also one third of the Directorship for Aston Performing Arts Academy, a community interest organisation that exists to empower young people through performing and creative arts. Since the organisation's inception in 2004, the company has impacted the lives of over 3000 young people in the Midlands. 

I am passionate about championing the cause of equality, justice and freedom of speech. I believe there should be a true representation of all communities irrespective of race, gender, religion, sexuality, age or class. More recently, I have been doing a lot of work around race relations, specifically being anti racist.
