I am deeply interested in finding practical solutions to brain disorders in Third World/Developing communities especially, communities and nations where resources are limited, inaccessible or simply unavailable. I also LOVE sharing this information with others At BBF, we work with the Federal Government in three main areas: 1. Helping people maintain and optimize brain function 2. Addressing memory, learning and processing deficits as soon as they show up (or as soon as possible) 3. Addressing brain disorders – from head injuries, strokes, to neurodegenerative conditions (Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease) at any stage. "Resource poor" refers to those falling behind in the Four “E”s: 1. Experts – neurologists, neuropsychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, physical therapists, etc trained in the diagnosis, treatment and management of brain disorders. 2. Equipment – for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of such conditions – high tech laboratories, medical imaging (for diagnosis and monitoring), surgical equipment 3. Establishments – top tier hospitals and research centers needed to address brain challenges. 4. Environment – supply chain efficiencies, medical insurance, uninterrupted electricity and internet access, etc. Necessity, The "Mother of Invention": Since it would require an enormous commitment of resources (and will) to overcome these deficits, we had to seek "walkarounds"…interventions that are simple to apply, effective, and most importantly, safe. At the very core of our approach is an understanding that the brain can and does repair itself…continually. Our job is simply to help it do this by creating (or providing) the conditions it requires to do so. Such conditions include the right nutrients or building blocks it needs to make new brain cells and repair damaged ones. Because of the undeniable success of our interventions, we were given special dispensation by the Federal Government to use our approach (called the Building Strength Approach) to address these conditions. So far we have managed hundreds of cases in both children and adults and our results have been remarkable (see stories here: https://www.brainandbodyfoundation.org/testimonials/). The Coming Tsunami: AD is already the number one cause of death in the UK. As its incidence continues to rise all over the world it is projected that the rise will be sharper in developing countries, making it more crucial than ever that we learn how to address it using the limited resources that are currently available to us. WE. MUST. START ACTING...NOW.
