I decided to work with those I call Hard Working Trailblazers because I too am a mission driven entrepreneur with a big vision. And I have had the exact same thoughts as I wrote out above. I started my career as a 22 year old introvert out of college in an industry that is known for having 90%+ attrition rates. I made it through the dog days of my early career through grit and discipline. I am still here in this industry because I had a vision for a better life for myself and my loved ones and I wouldn't let anything get in my way. This mentality "got me by" in my first years. I was making it further than most, but by no means excelling. After a few years, my grind mentality started to get to me. I was working more, but the steady progress I was making began to plateau and eventually regress. At that point, I asked myself, "Why do you work so hard, Drew?". Without hesitation, I answered with, "To create a better life for my future self, my family and my community. I want to have a great Return on Life". And it was in this reflection point and looking forward to my future, that I realized that my grind mentality was robbing my life today, but also the lives of my future self, future generations and my community that I cared for so much. That day I changed my paradigm to value quality over quantity in every aspect of my life and act with my vision in mind daily. Over time, I came to realize that with the right strategy, mindset and vision, I could do less with more and accomplish all of my dreams I could ever hope for. With my new mindset and life, I have had the freedom to now start a second business, Talus Outdoor Expeditions and climb the tallest 58 mountains in Colorado. My mission is to help others avoid my pitfalls.
