Menopause was a big opportunity for me to relaunch my life. When I discovered there was mostly misinformation and predatory marketing to women in menopause, I created The Menopause Movement to educate, inform, and inspire women in midlife to start to feel like themselves again.

After leading a multi-million-dollar surgical practice to significant growth, I've transitioned to focus exclusively on telehealth, bringing advanced care directly to patients' homes. My extensive experience in surgery informs my expertise in obesity and lifestyle medicine, where I am keen to apply non-surgical interventions to tackle complex health issues.

Through telehealth, I extend specialized care beyond traditional settings, making effective, personalized treatment accessible to a broader audience. I am also strongly interested in exploring digital health technologies, including remote monitoring tools and patient engagement platforms. I believe these innovations have the potential to transform healthcare delivery by improving treatment adherence and enhancing patient satisfaction.

My mission is straightforward: to empower patients by providing clear, evidence-based guidance and support throughout their health journey. I closely partner with my patients, ensuring each one feels valued and understood. This is crucial for managing their condition and enhancing their overall well-being.

I am driven to push the boundaries of healthcare. I use innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes and accessibility. My goal is to transform the landscape of healthcare delivery, one patient at a time.

When a patient comes to me with the disease of obesity, I don’t start treatment by cutting calories. 

I start by lowering resistance:
- quieting pathologic hunger
- protecting lean mass
- stabilizing sleep
- improving insulin sensitivity
- addressing hormonal instability in midlife

When those systems improve, weight loss becomes possible.

This is slow.
It’s deliberate.
And it requires partnership.

That’s intentional.

A patient who needs quick answers or generic rules will find my approach frustrating.

A patient who wants to understand why their body is responding the way it is, and is willing to work inside their physiology rather than against it, tends to partner well with me.

Midlife medicine requires nuance.
I practice individualized medicine.

One of the most common mistakes I see in midlife women's health is treating a plateau as a motivation problem.

When the body adapts to calorie restriction, the instinctive response is often:
“Then increase the deficit.”

That advice doesn’t come from medicine.
It comes from fitness culture.

In clinical practice, adaptation tells me something different:
the body is defending.

My job isn’t to push harder.
It’s to understand why the resistance exists.

Most midlife women don’t suddenly “lose discipline.”

They lose estrogen, progesterone, and metabolic stability.

And the medical system treats hormone loss like a motivational problem. 

You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.
You’re living in a body that changed without anyone explaining how.

That’s the failure.
Not you.

Midlife women are often told their bodies “should still respond” to the same strategies that worked in their 20s or 30s.

But estrogen fluctuations in perimenopause and menopause change insulin sensitivity, sleep architecture, appetite signaling, and fat distribution.

When those shifts aren’t addressed, escalating restriction only increases resistance.

Many women internalize this as failure.
Clinically, it’s predictable physiology.

And recognizable patterns.

“I don’t know how I gained the weight. I woke up one day and was like this.”

I hear this constantly.

Midlife weight gain isn’t about calories.
It’s about hormones, sleep disruption, insulin resistance, and muscle loss.

When those shift, the rules change.
The system never told you.

So you blame yourself.
You shouldn’t.
