Delivery Operations Manager

Every successful implementation of cloud solutions needs a game plan and a quarterback to make it happen. That's me. First, I work with organizations to develop their game plan for implementing data and DevOps cloud solutions that will help them achieve their business goals. Next, I help put the team of talented technical people together who can execute that game plan. Finally, I guide them to success.

I work closely with technical teams and business teams to ensure that everyone is on the same page, understands what is expected of them, and knows the path to success. While everyone has their heads down, working hard, I keep an eye on the horizon, looking out for any obstacles and altering the plan, when necessary, to continue toward our goals.

I provide coaching and mentorship for people interested in gaining skills in the Cloud that will enable them to secure a role as a Cloud analyst. This includes coaching candidates through achieving the LPI Linux Essentials certification and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.

I was a proud founder and manager of a very successful residential real estate brokerage. With only three agents, we consistently outperformed dozens of much larger firms in our market, consistently placing in the top 10% of brokerages by volume. I helped countless people find their home in the Charlottesville area. I also oversaw all of our technology implementation and tools, including websites, advertising, SEO, and back office systems.

I officiated thousands of High School girls' and boys' basketball games over my 18 seasons in Delaware and Virginia. I also served as the Rules Interpreter and Coordinator of Training for many years in the PBOA. I rose to the level of Lead Official and officiated numerous Virginia High School League State Tournament games, and a Championship Game in the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association State Tournament. Officiating taught me incredibly valuable lessons in leadership, team building, conflict resolution, effective communication, and training. I also had to effectively manage my time in order to be able to maintain a full working schedule and a full officiating schedule.

Basketball Referee

USA South Athletic Conference / Old Dominion Athletic Conference

I was a basketball referee on the staffs of both the USA South and ODAC, two of the most competitive conferences in NCAA D-III Men's Basketball. These officiating staffs of these two conferences are made up of some of the best college basketball referees in America. I was able to successfully develop and grow my experience to the point of having a full conference schedule. In doing so, I learned how to be a leader, successfully build teams and work together, and how to accept and implement criticism that helped me improve. Officiating at this level taught me numerous lessons about leadership and communication that I brought into my work life every day.

I'm an enthusiastic and constantly curious Delivery Manager. I work with mid to large corporations and organizations and help them achieve their business goals by leveraging the cloud. I provide the vital bridge between the business and technical teams so that everyone can work seamlessly together toward making things happen. While everyone has their heads down, working hard, I keep my eyes on the horizon to guide projects to success. 

I live in the Charleston area of South Carolina with my wife, Kari, our three children, and an Irish Doodle.
