In reality, it’s a vendor-run advocacy and rewards program where:
☑️IT pros help educate and support their peers
☑️You earn rewards for authentic community engagement (not sales pitches)
☑️Points can be redeemed for gift cards, swag, or The IT Nation passes

Basically, it’s like Bohemian Grove meets Eyes Wide Shut but instead of networking with billionaires, you’re helping someone fix their RMM agent check-in issue on Reddit.

Every few weeks, a vendor barrels into r/MSP like the Kool-Aid Man “Hey everyone! <Insert generic lazy market research> 👀”

Zero context. No history with the community. 𝗡𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Just boom 🦵🚪 door kicked wide open, glass on the floor, and they’re shouting questions they could’ve answered with ten minutes of scrolling.

And it’s not that the question is bad; 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥.

When you post like that, it tells every MSP reading:
-You don’t spend time here.
-You don’t understand who you’re talking to.
-You’re treating the community like a survey panel, not a peer group.

If you’re a vendor:
 👉 Show up first.
 👉 Contribute to the culture.
 👉 Add value before asking for it.
