Dustin Cox, Co-Founder and Senior Partner of Salient Strategies, is a prominent, recognized leader and innovator at the forefront of a groundbreaking movement in the Austin lobbying industry. Dustin brings with him over a decade of unique and varied legislative experience and political background that includes work in Texas Legislature as committee clerk for the Texas House Committee on Public Education and Director of External Relations for one of Texas’ largest charter school operators, Harmony Public Schools. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Wesley School in Austin and served as the 2019 Chairman of the Texas Charter School Association Conference Committee. After many successes in the PK-12 education industry, Dustin has leveraged his contacts, expertise, resources, and reputation to establish a dynamic, cutting-edge lobbying firm with a revolutionary business model. His firm, Salient Strategies provides comprehensive, professional, and affordable representation to a diverse clientele. Most recently as consultant for non-profit associations, PK-12 charters schools and healthcare entities across the Great State of Texas by making the suite of government affairs accessible to a broader client population, Salient provides a voice to companies and organizations that have had little or no representation in the past. As the leader of a new class of lobbying firms, Dustin is especially proficient at building coalitions and mobilizing grassroots efforts to strengthen his clients’ voices. His prowess at government relations ensures he is able to meet his client’s numerous legislative and regulatory goals. Dustin believes strongly in running a lobbying firm for the rest of us. Cox is a serial entrepreneur as well. He co-founded and is the Director of Business Development for Sine Die Solutions, a software platform that transforms the advocacy and civic engagement process for state-level political organizations. He is also co-founder of BRIEF, an Austin based start-up that tracks, condenses and briefs venture capitalists and other startup companies on unknown governmental regulations. Originally from Virginia, Dustin graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He went on to complete his master’s in business administration from the McCoy School of Business at Texas State University. Cox is a member of the Texas School Public Relations Association and active in many local philanthropic organizations.
