My role is to support, develop, manage and implement Hilton’s MEP and Fire Life Safety Brand standards for new and conversion hotels for the EMEA estate.

I'm responsible for the maintenance of current and up-to-date copies of all Design and Construction standards in relation to engineering and fire life safety for all brands. My role involves the review of building engineering services drawings and specifications across multiple projects in EMEA including new build developments, refurbishments, property improvement plans and CAPEX projects. 

I liaise with the company’s Area Operations Engineering team to review the performance of new hotels once these become operational, and use feedback to improve/optimise the design schemes of future hotel projects.

Achievements
• Within 3 months of joining Hilton I was given control of all projects across Russia & CIS due to its fast growth. Successfully clearing the backlog, I've opened 3-5 hotels in this region yearly since.
• Around 2017 I took control of all French projects. There are currently 21 in design & construction with 8 openings forecasted for 2023.
• Successfully provided Engineering Support to over 124 Hilton branded hotel openings and currently in control of over 45 hotel projects in design and construction.
• Directly responsible for mentoring new Engineers and sponsored my fellow Senior Engineering Manager with their application to become Chartered with CIBSE.

I worked at Grontmij as a Senior mechanical building service engineer responsible for design, development and implementation of a vast scope of building services systems; Ranging from HVAC calculations, developing full design on drawings, reports, schedules, attending meeting, site surveys, testing and witnessing, liaising with Project Managers, Architects, Contractors, Clients and Manufacturers. 

This includes:
• Establish, develop and maintain rapport and credibility with clients, manufacturers, contractors, architects and project managers.
• Obtaining scope of works/design briefs from senior engineers to develop into full design including drawings and specifications. 
• Responsible for complete mechanical (Deutsche bank – Appold street) design drawings, schematics, schedules and reports. Actively contributing to design development meetings
• Participating in site meetings and undertaking intrusive surveys’ to verify design and ensure variations are kept to a minimum.
• Worked closely with intermediate/senior engineers, assisting with HVAC scheme and detail design calculations.
• Attended regular design team meetings
• Manipulating data from HEVACOMP and thermal modelling packages into plant specification.
• Understanding the procedures to build a project within the time and budget constraints set down by the client.
• Responsible for keeping various projects incoming/outgoing drawings and standards up to date.
• Responsible for ordering any site equipments required for site visits, surveys, inspections and witnessing.
• Successfully worked alongside HR in University recruitment fairs to explain to university graduates the role of a graduate building services engineer within Troup Bywaters and Anders.
• Attended CPD’s, manufacturer conferences, skills improvement workshops and training courses.
• Progressing in completing competencies and keeping up to date in becoming a charted engineer recognised by CIBSE.

I was part of a team that must create a complete and consistent hierarchy of systems engineering plans throughout projects, linking to the railway system plans, undertake feasibility and project definition studies in response to client briefs, maintain alignment with Metronet Rail Company management systems and processes, provide assurance to the Safety and Assurance team in relation to the systems engineering activities and develop and maintain a working knowledge of current systems engineering standards, procedures and techniques. This position required a great knowledge of Microsoft Excel, this was the main programme used to for the data input and as the supervisor trainer I learnt the system and tools of Excel inside out.
